Player combinations

Morrison was missing yesterday and Nelson received a lot of plaudits.

IMO Morrison is our best centre half but needs an athletic partner to mask his slowness and poor distribution. Sol returning and Nelsons encouraging debut makes me feel we may have a good mid season when we get the combinations back. Morrison and Flint are just too similar for me. On paper Sol and Manga should have been our best pairing but somehow never worked, but both worked well with Sean.

in midfield, i think i can see Warnocks logic. Pack as the sitter trying to play the "whitts" QB role from the Malky era with two great athletes in Ralls and Bacuna ahead of him. Not sure where that will leave Tomlin though. I am still unsure about Pack (slower than me) although that was his best game thus far from my perspective.

The question along the flanks is whether you consider them midfielders or forwards with only Junior being able to do the donkey work and produce goals and assists. Whyte does the donkey but i see no offense at all and that leaves the two enigmas of NML and Murphy. Both are offensive and do a bit defensively, but that's it.

Could Josh or NML play striker as the alternatives are Ward (lower championship), Bogle or Paterson (L1 at best) and Madine on the naughty step.

Morrison and Bamba are the best partnership , not even a debate.

We have no choice in midfield because it is poor whoever is picked

Madine is the best striker at the club but it just is not working out for him, just like Lefondre a few years ago.

I would play Hoilett in the striker role with Murphy and Mendez wide.
Hoilett has the strikers knack for getting into good positions and can score goals

Bogle in front of Madine every time for me.
Tomlin at number 10 - at home in particular.
Agree with defenders and NML and Hoilett wide.
