MY VIEW: NEIL WARNOCKS 10 MEN OUT PLAYED BY BRUM,BUT

Sat Nov 02, 2019 4:53 pm

MY VIEW/OPINION

NEIL WARNOCKS 10 MEN OUT PLAYED BY BRUM, BUT WENT ON TO WIN & SECURE 3 VALUABLE POINTS & SILENCED THE WARNOCK OUT BRIGADE.

YES :bluebird:

This was a great 3points for Warnock after the dreadful performance at Swansea. :bluebird:

But to be fair Cardiff for the majority of the game played awful and Birmingham will feel like they were hard done by.

A hatrick by Ralls and one by Nelson secured the 3pts :bluebird:

First-half: Birmingham dominated the half and should of been 4nil up but thanks to a Joe Ralls penalty & a debut goal by Nelson gave Cardiff a 2-1 lead :bluebird: :bluebird:

As they say 3pts are 3pts :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY 4 BIRMINGHAM CITY 2 :bluescarf: :bluebird:
Crowd 23,778
Away Support 2,654 (Brum Sold out asked for more)

Sean Morrison the City Captain was out injured so Pack took over as Captain.

Curtis Nelson made his full Cardiff City debut and scored on his debut :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Etheridge; Peltier, Nelson, Flint, Bennett; Pack, Ralls, Bacuna; Mendez-Laing, Ward, Hoilett
Subs: Smithies, Vauks, Murphy, Paterson, Tomlin, Bamba, Bogle

5th min Terrible start by Cardiff another set-piece goal conceded! The ball was lumped in to Jutkiewicz from the free-kick and he headed it across goal. There was a bit of a scramble but left-back Pedersen was the first to it to tap home. 0-1

Brum hit the post in the 16th min.

29th min a Joe Ralls penalty against the run of play 1-1 :bluebird:

37th min and another goal against the run of play 2-1 Nelson :thumbright: :bluebird:

Cardiff improved vastly, but Brim still could of scored MY VIEW/OPINION

37th min and another goal against the run of play 2-1 Nelson :thumbright: :bluebird:

Cardiff improved vastly, but Brim still could of scored again.

H/T 2-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff had a goal disallowed for a foul.

51min Ward sent off for an awful foul

Brum had what looked like a clear penalty turned down.

Bogle came on for Hoilett.

68th min GOAL! Cardiff City 3-1 Birmingham City (Ralls)

What a goal from the Bluebirds! Mendez-Laing did brilliantly to shake his man down the wing and coasted it into the box. He laid off Joe Ralls and the midfielder curled home into the far corner! :bluebird:

88th min what a goal shot/goal by Brum 3-2

95th min Joe Ralls penalty 4-2 :bluebird:

City defended well and held out for a valuable 3pts :bluebird:

Bit harsh Annis

Thought first twenty minutes they killed us then even

After red it was tight until we scored

Heroic performance

I’d have to disagree with us being outplayed. The first 20 minutes definitely, we were worse than last week if that’s even possible. But after the first 20 and until Ward’s moment of madness we were by far the better team, and Birmingham didn’t look dangerous at all. We controlled the game brilliantly. Joe Bennett and Marlon Pack were brilliant. But Joe Ralls was like a man possessed today, that was the performance of the season by a player so far.

We needed to win today and we did, that's the most important thing.

But we were lucky not to be 3 or 4-0 in the first 20 minutes. The first penalty seemed to change the match in our favour.

Stupid challenge by Ward for the red card.

Delighted for Ralls to get a hattrick, he's been very under appreciated and often made a scapegoat.

Still stand by what I said last week about Warnock. We should have lost that heavily because of the first 20 minutes, and it's also the fact we are incapable of getting a result away that I think it's time for him to go.

But an important win today to relieve some of the pressure ahead of another Derby next weekend.

For the first 30mins we were awful and scored against the run of play, we only came really alive when went down to 10men.

Anyway 4 goals and three points that’s what really matters :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Nice to see character make his first appearance of the season. Great result

That's not giving up and kept taking it to them no matter how much the came at us

Cant believe we won after the first 20 minutes I had visions of a hammering.

Think we got extremely lucky but we are due it and hopfully get some moral from it.

Had to be a win today at any cost

We did what we've done to most teams at ccs and that is to deny them opportunities in 2nd half! they huffed but couldn't puff and it's not the 1st time that's happened to teams here.. mind you why we wasnt 3 down 1st 20mins only brum will know but great result in awful conditions. :bluescarf:

With reference to Ralls, he played well today and will take the plaudits. Play poorly, and a pro footballer will have the crowd on him. It’s up to him, and is as simple as that.

Best game of the season, Nelson MOM, followed by Pack who reigned in our aerial excesses. Etheridge seems elsewhere.

Harsh analysis.
Yes first 25 we were second best, but thought we dig deep and ended up worthy winners.
Well done City

Right, let’s thump them wurzels next week, our real Rivals

Don’t agree with the analysis at all.
After the first 20 minutes or so we were the better team and thoroughly deserved the win.

Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:09 pm

Forst 20 mins we were shit but once we went 2-1 up we were the better team ,when we went down to 10 men we play well flint and peltier were brilliant at the back ,and our midfield started to play much better

Still say we are a poor team. Would like to see a new young, hungry manager come in and start changing the squad over the next two years to start playing a better brand of football. Good result today after a very poor first 25 minutes. :occasion5: :bluescarf:

Ward did' nt and has'nt done the team any favour's only bogle left to choose from and out for 3 matches plus side nelson played well and nice to see bamba back and he came over to the canton at the end touching his heart which was a nice touch.

Overall I thought we deserved it for mostly our sheer grit.Nice dust up at the end too.
Bogle is now going to get a run of games which could be good.

Like I Said Cardiff's Only Good Quality Is That They Play Much Better Home Than Away. And That Is Going To Keep Them Mid Table. Sadly We Failed To Impress Away From Home But With Bamba AND Morrison Back At The Heart Of Our Defence We Will Be Solid At Away Matches As Well As Home. :bluebird:

Re: MY VIEW: NEIL WARNOCKS 10 MEN OUT PLAYED BY BRUM,BUT

Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:42 pm

Got to say I thought we were worse than awful for the first 25 mins but after that we started to get a grip on the game and played some of our best football for a while.

Pack, Hoilett and Bennett were outstanding but everyone played well (possible exception Ward). So important we build on this and take 3 points next week too.

Re: MY VIEW: NEIL WARNOCKS 10 MEN OUT PLAYED BY BRUM,BUT

Sat Nov 02, 2019 7:04 pm

First twenty minutes I was fearing the worst. But slowly managed to get a grip on the game. Thought when we went to ten we looked pretty solid and I kind of thought we looked relevantly comfortable. Joe Ralls took his second goal very well; thought it was very good build up play by NML. Got me thinking, when was the last time someone scored a hat trick for us? Was it Peter Whittingham against Wolves?

Re: MY VIEW: NEIL WARNOCKS 10 MEN OUT PLAYED BY BRUM,BUT

Sat Nov 02, 2019 7:10 pm

We started very poorly giving away another sloppy goal and were lucky to be still in the game up until the penalty.

Second half we had a very good spell until Ward was sent off.

To be fair I expected Brum to hammer us with 10 men and yet it was extremely comfortable.

Let's hope the Swansea game was a watershed moment for the club.

I thought we were going to be in for a right drubbing after 10 minutes but what a turnaround and fantastic spirit shown. They put their bodies on the line in the second half and just hope they continue next week

Best 2nd half performance for long time coincidence that Morrison was not playing?
Think it took awhile to get it together but looked more composed and stronger at back particularly corners free kicks!

I thought we showed tremendous resilience after the red card. Peltier, Pack and Hoilet showed experience and helped us manage the game very well. Truth be told we were worse then awful for 25 mins and the first penalty was very soft but will 100 percent take a very important 3 points :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I think it was more that Flint and Morrison were not playing together, as most said when Flint signed he is to similar to Morrison.

I like the idea of Morrison and Nelson myself.

Thats what meant really but prefer flint as he can use ball better than Morrison be interesting to see next weeks performance
as apparently Morrison wont be risked until after international break ...

I appreciate your honesty Annis. On another day we would have been 3 0 up before Cardiff got their first goal. Over the 90 mins a draw was about right. If we had taken our chances in the first half it would have been a different game. Also thought the ref was poor and didn't do us any favours.

Interesting as I always feel Morrison used the ball better, you probably seen more games than me this season tho in fairness. Flint just seem arkward to me lol.

Typical Championship. Poor form, yet we are 4 points off a playoff place and 7 points off the top.
