Whyte

Now I don't think he is a bad signing but for the life of me I couldn't see why he was starting ahead of Hoilett for so long.

He works hard and covers the fullback well which is why I guess Warnock plays him but lacks that turn of pace and doesn't seem to offer anything in the final third, does he have any goals or assists?

Can eventually see him being used wingback.

he does work hard but like you I fail to see how he starts ahead of Hoilett who pulls rabbits out of hats that I see no signs of Whyte doing...but there are bigger problems

I think he has 1 assist but that's it. But I agree he'd probably make a better wing back or full back.

They do play on different wings though so not really an either/or situation. In reality we seem to be looking at Hoilett oMurphy on the left, Whyte or NML on the right.
Personally not sure why we always have to play 2 wingers though.

I don't get the Whyte love in either. Think he could be great but has a lot of work to do. Nowhere near Championship level for me yet

Great to bring on to defend a lead maybe when another winger is tiring but we are dropping to deep because or Morrison and Flint which makes the wide players even more important and they have to make chances and get goals otherwise where does it come from.

I like him. Think he’s been consistent and his work rate is exceptional.

If you have him and Hoillet our wide helping out the midfield then it allows us to play Tomlin without having our midfield swamped

His work rate is brilliant , the problem is his crossing and shooting is dogshit.
Hes the proverbial headless chicken at the moment , to just put your head down and run as fast as you can is not good enough at this level.
He will be a very good player in a few years time

Agreed, up to now if Tomlinson was going to play then Warnock would look for the added work rate of Whyte and Hoilett.

However, NML seems to be getting back to his best so Whyte may find it difficult to get back in now.

Whyte will be back as I think he’s going to be a real asset but just has to improve his final ball.

Potentially a good player but we are not a good enough side to carry anyone this season.
NML is a better player and should always start with Holliet imo

NO END PRODUCT - 4th best winger at the club & should never be a starter before Hoilett unless of 3 games in a week, etc.

No doubt he will improve but at the moment there is no end product. Doesn’t get enough crosses into the box or shots on target.

Tend to agree with that, I like Murphy but he tends to float in and out of games.
