NEIL WARNOCK:

Neil Warnock on the mood in the camp

As you can imagine it’s been a bit low in the way that the game panned out, especially against a local rival.

I think the dressing room epitomised that really.

I wouldn’t want anyone to be happy and joking around after a defeat like that really.

We know we let them down, the supporters. I’ve always been honest with the fans since I’ve been here and it was a poor performance.

The fans won’t forget it but we’ve got to make sure they forgive by performing and going on another run.

Neil Warnock on his future at the club

I’m sure the club have got everything in mind. It’s a properly run club Mehmet (Dalman) and Ken Choo talk to Vincent (Tan) all the time.

As a manager all you can do is your best until you’re told it’s no longer required. I’m sure behind the scenes they’re looking at the future. Every club is.

Cardiff City dealt Robert Glatzel blow

Glatzel’s out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring and there are one or two other problems.

He’s had some rough luck. He scored a great goal at West Brom and saw it wrongly disallowed. You need a bit of luck as a striker. Even by Robret’s standards he’ll be disappointed with how last week went. The rest might actually do him a bit of good in getting him back firing.

An injury update on Curtis Nelson and Sol Bamba

Curtis has been unlucky and Sol’s been busy getting back to fitness.

We’ve always been told November and that game for the under-23s did him the world of good.

There’s still parts of Sol’s game that he needs to brush up on, but it’s good to have him back into the squad really because we do have quite a lot of injury problems at the minute.

Neil Warnock on criticism from the fans after the South Wales derby defeat

When we lost four or five on the trot in January there was a bit of criticism, but it’s not like a local derby. To play like we did, I’m not bothered with whoever you are, you’re not going to come away without criticism, and quite rightly so.

That’s why we have to face it, it’s easy to turn your back. I’ve always been straight with them.

We were poor, and we’ve got to improve and be better.

We’ve still lost two in 12 games and four of the away games Wigan, Millwall, Blackburn and I can’t remember the other one.

I think there’s four games we could have won, which could have given us another eight points. It is disappointing, but life’s too short and you’ve got to get on with it.

Accept criticism on fitness and defensive organisation?

I don’t accept that about fitness and intensity. I’ve never seen our passing as poor. We’ve got to look to the next game.

I’m disappointed we haven’t got eight more points this season, which would have put it in a better perspective.

But we can’t be left feeling too sorry for ourselves. We’ve got two really tough home games. Birmingham are flying at the moment and then there’s a derby with Bristol City.

Neil Warnock on Cardiff's 4-4-2 formation against Swansea

You say fan expectations. I went with another striker at Swansea to try and be positive and it had the exact opposite effect to what I wanted. You can’t win either way.

I thought it would be the best way but it wasn’t. We got outnumbered in midfield and out-passed and we looked like we weren’t physical because we weren’t anywhere near the ball.

NEIL WARNOCK:

Is the upcoming home double header exactly what Cardiff need right now?

We’ve only had six home games and the crowd have been fabulous. This is going to be difficult.

Birmingham play a style that will be difficult to break down. We’ve just got to try and do our best.

I know Swansea was disappointing but this wasn’t like a Reading. This was just misdirection really.

The extra striker giving them too much space in the midfield and the wayward passing.

NEIL WARNOCK:

Can fans expect a reaction to the derby defeat when Cardiff host Birmingham this weekend?

Yes. But then they don’t know any different. They need leading as well and like I say, system wise it’s alright looking at it after the event, but sometimes you can have five strikers on the pitch and it doesn’t make a difference.

You’ve got to plan the system and I’ve got to give the lads every opportunity to play to a system and get the best out of them.

The latest on Junior Hoilett and Lee Tomlin

There’s not much light at the moment with Tomlin. He’s had an injection and although there’s nothing untoward on the scan he’s not feeling right.

He hasn’t trained now for the best part of 10 days, so it’s difficult because he was going to be a big part against Swansea and this weekend.

But we’ve just got to get on with it.

Junior did some light training yesterday. He’s still got a bit of fluid there, but there’s no tear as such. Hopefully another few days will bring him back into contention.

Neil Warnock on Danny Gabbidon's comments that the media are too soft on the Cardiff boss

He’s probably disappointed I’m popular. They’re going to make comments. I’d be interested in the next five years as to what comments are made when I’m watching from afar.

Neil Warnock on why he didn't speak to Vincent Tan after the loss to Swansea

I didn’t ring him because he would have given me a mouthful and I wouldn’t have blamed him really.

I do speak to him though. He cares and he’s not happy about the Swansea situation, and quite rightly so, but he knows we are doing everything behind the scenes to try and change things and get a successful team.

Neil Warnock on social media trolls

I think social media, you’ve got to take the good and bad. I don’t agree with it. Can you imagine if I was on social media?

It’s just a platform for people who can get away with murder. I still don’t think it should be allowed and I think there should be some sort of governance.

I wish none of my lads were on social media. I must admit I didn’t see anything when I went over to clap the crowd.

Neil Warnock is asked if he's worried about his position at the club

As a manager you’ve just got to focus on the next game. You’re always worried about a performance that’s not very good.

You know you’ve let the fans down and they’re the ones you want to please really.

This club over the three years I’ve been here, the difference has been magnificent, but if I’d been a fan on Sunday, I’m sure I’d have felt the same.

Glad to see he has single handedly changed the club over the 3 years he has been here. We are now in the same position as when he came here, admittedly the crowds are bigger, mainly down to expectation of success this season. But the football is now worse and he has spent over £60m in transfer fees alone.
At least we won't have to watch Glatzel struggle on Saturday. Bogle should come in, but he'll pick Ward probably.

Has Bogle ever done anything to suggest he is anything more than a league two or league one striker. He was pretty hopeless for Birmingham on loan in the championship and not that good for Portsmouth in league one. Granted he was more effective than Glatzel against Swansea but anyone would have been. I would alway go for Ward ahead of Bogle he as proved he can score at this level for Rotherham and us. Think I would prefer Bogle to Madine but as Madine has never scored for us it's not saying much.

Very poor comments from NW, lose saturday and i think that will be it.
So much for stating he would walk if he felt he did not have the support of the fans.
With the weather forecast atrocious with wind and rain it will probably be another poor game again on saturday.

the one thing thats annoyed me in that, was he said, i tried to be more positive and it had the opposite effect, we got out manned in midfield (along those lines)

obviously that would happen if you play a 4 man midfield, no offence to ralls he isnt a defensively minded midfielder, so really your looking at 3, against a team, for the past 10+ years has played a 5 man midfield, quick passing and very fluid. even as someone who only played sunday league football i knew you can't do that against the jacks.... also, i noticed a few times
Dyer, who seemed to be the smallest lad on the pitch, outjumped and won alot of headers against us.
