To be fair Annis, rivalry aside, there hasn’t been trouble at the derby matches for decades. Things have changed in society and cameras etc make it very unlikely a crime would go unpunished.

Armed police at football matches is now a normal thing unfortunately


Seen them plenty of times at CCS

I would guess this is incase of some kind of terrorist attack, at a high profile game it can't be ruled out. Personally I'd rather they were there than not.

I doubt ita incase some fans get into a ruck

Seen them at CCS a few times for very run of the mill games and its completely over the top. If they feel they need to have extra security because of perceived terrorist threat they don't have to walk around with their guns like that. It certainly doesn't make me feel safer.

Tbh if there’s a potential threat, the fact that they’re there and visible always makes me feel safer. Same as at airports. It’s not like they’re not incredibly well trained in fire arms.
