Sean Morrison's fiancée has hit out at Cardiff City fans, claiming she was targeted by abuse over social media following their derby-day defeat to Swansea City on Sunday.

Stacey Amber Ward, who has over 61,000 followers on Instagram, took to the platform hours after Cardiff's 1-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium in a furious rant saying she had been subjected to vile comments from social media trolls.

She claimed angry Bluebirds fans had vented their frustrations to her after the game and, writing on her Instagram story, she said: "Absolutely done in receiving bull**** messages from Cardiff fans tonight.

"Like seriously what's goes into your thought process 'do you know what I'm going to message Sean's Gf tonight giving her a bit of abuse cause I have absolutely nothing better to do'.

"Comment on the Cardiff Instagram page, comment on their Facebook, message Sean himself if you really feel you have to! Say what the f*** you want but stop messaging me!!!!

"I have absolutely nothing to do with it and do not deserve to be reading the s*** some of you guys are sending me.

"It's not okay."



Miss Ward then continued, elaborating on some of the alleged messages she had received.

"I've been called a fat ugly s**g, a money grabbing c***, my bf is useless and should die, hope your dog gets run over.

"Like seriously wtf!!! I should not have to read s*** like that. Imagine some d***head fan messaging your daughter something like that all because a football games not gone the way you wanted.


"Seriously man it's ridiculous. Grow the f*** up!"

Why on earth do people see fit to send this level abuse to anyone let alone someone that has literally nothing to do with the any reasons they are being abusive in the first place?

Wishing death on a our player? I cant call these people Cardiff City fans, as we all know how we felt after Emiliano's death, people who mostly knew next to nothing about him, how much pain his family went through I can't imagine. So to wish the same fate on a player for our club, who himself had a major health scare, is just inexcusable.

I would hope she reported these such people, to the social media sites and if warranted to the police, as ignoring such hate isn't enough because they will keep doing it and keep getting away with it.

There are bigger things in life than losing a derby match, yes it means alot to us fans, but not to the level where we should spread this sort of abuse and hate. That is just unacceptable for me.

Until social media sites and the authorities really clamp down on it this is always going to be a problem. It literally takes a few minutes to create a profile. I bet half these messages are from recently created fake profiles made for this purpose. You should have to prove your identity to create an account so all actions cans be traced back to the person. Anyone using a real account should be named and shamed.

Morrison always gives 100% on the pitch and as fans that's all we can ask !!!
He was one of our better players yesterday battling for the cause even when he was clearly injured..... you can't ask for anything else from him ???

It is completely unacceptable behaviour but we have to accept responsibility for our own. These idiots are amongst us, they are probably members of this forum or could possibly be the ones hurling abuse at Morrison after the final whistle yesterday.

Finished the game with two bandaged wrists. Plays through injury. Along with Joe Ralls, was the only player who looked liked he was putting in a shift yesterday.

There are some so called fans who are dragging this great club into the gutter after many many years of descent folk pulling it out, for crying out loud weren't we awarded plaudit after plaudit not so long ago?

Between some of the low life's who use this club as an outlet for their filth and the football lately I think I'm about done!!!

Its so wrong and it needs to find the culprits if possible, and then throw them in the Canton end on Saturday for the real fans take up the issue.
