Reaction: Neil Warnock post-Swansea CityLive Interview 40 minutes agoSunday 27th October 2029
Neil Warnock spoke at Liberty Stadium following the Bluebirds’ South Wales Derby defeat on Sunday afternoon.
“I thought it was always going to be close,” he said.
“We’re disappointed to concede like we did and not to score at the other end.
“It was really disappointing yesterday to lose Tomlin and Junior [Hoilett] and have to change everything last minute. We can’t blame that though.
"It was a really poor goal, so we’ve only got ourselves to blame. It knocked us back a little bit and our passing let us down when we had really good opportunities.
"In the second half, when we got good possession, we picked the wrong pass and the goalie's made a few good saves. That's what derbies are won and lost on."City have successive home matches against Birmingham City and Bristol City ahead and the Gaffer finished by looking at their fixtures to come.
“We’ve had eight games away and six at home. We’ve got to get ready for these next two home matches now and get the place rocking.
"We've got Birmingham and Bristol City, another derby, then after the international break we’ve got to start picking up points on the road.”

Just your typical reply from a manager now under the cosh.
I recall the days when managers would on on tv and say things like if we play like that we will get relelgated. Gordon Strachon when at coventry for the curious ones amongst us. Today managers come over more like politicians.

Every frigging pass we picked was the wrong one

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when he mentioned it was a blow when Lee Tomlin wasn’t available for selection hahahaha
He’s off is his head!!!! When has Tomlin been in the forefront of his thinking on selection...taxi for Warnock!

Probably good job Tomlin wasn't available he would of been Warnocks scape goat

He’s lost it!
That was anything but close and the scoreline was very flattering.
He makes statements about players being unavailable last minute and then says you shouldn’t make excuses- so DON’T. Embarrassing.
Why not explain the tactics? We’re they his or the players’? If they were his, then he should walk. If they weren’t, why isn’t he jumping up and down furious?
Sell-by date hasn’t just gone, it’s the last bit of fish at the back of the fridge and stinking the whole
Kitchen out!! I don’t normally talk about managers going but this is quite urgent now.

Seems to be saying the same sort of things after every game now because every game seems to be going the same way.
He's tried so many different formations in midfield and up front but none are working.
And every game he is playing the same back four who are leaking goals left right and centre yet keep getting selected week in week out!
Could Nelson, Brown and Coxe really do any worse than Flint, Morrison and Bennett have done this season?

Most goals are conceded because theres no challenge on player! Today typical 4 players in proximity of Swansea scorer not one went to him to challenge 8yds out happened twice, defence needs a change personally take Morrison out as flint can actually play on the ground given chance.. and by taking him out maybe we'll stop the monotonous ball to back of area that doesn't work..

From us the ball was up in the air more times than the wales v south africa rugby match "Why", i thought we knocked it about and played some tidy stuff against millwall with tomlin in the side, but we reverted back to long balls.
I know we had no welsh players out there today, but surely they new it was a derby .

It pains me to say it but he is absolutely f****g deluded. This is the shortened version of his interview in which he goes on to comment on how loud the crowd was. At no stage were we ever in the game today and were second best everywhere. He hasnt got a clue and if he has any pride should resign immediately.

His comments have been remarkable after the game, just reading them now
Pretty sure I was the first one to make the point how much of a mistake it was that the club decided to keep a manager who has committed to retirement in 9 months. Players will not react the same to a manager who is leaving anyway, same with a boss in work - he won't carry the same clout. I think it was Carpe Diem who told me I was trolling or something and the opinion was stupid or something along those lines, good to see that many have mentioned it in the last few days and people are starting to see the effect it has.
He needed to go months ago. The club was perfectly primed for a clean break and will unfortunately be a lot harder now as he brought in 8 more players and spent 14m of precious transfer kitty, especially precious when in the transition between PL and Championship.

Come on Neil, I deserve better than that , just say it as it is , we are not a good side , you said the other week this is the best championship team you have managed , in my eyes it’s a very average team at best . The passing is so slow . No pace , no endeavour , no passion , no leadership . All I can see is big physical looking players who aren’t that physical and can’t play football , do you base our game on set pieces and we aren’t very good st that either in either box . Let’s go to plan B but you haven’t got one . Limited in the premier league and now the Championship. Time for change I believe .

Plan B? We are struggling to find Plan A!

Since Millwall when Tomlin, Hoilett and Ward were outstanding, he wouldn't have wanted to break that attacking three up.

To a point I agree, but Sunday was the straw that broke the camels back,so to speak, for me anyway.BUT slag the man off isn't my style, especially as for what he HAS done! We were a club on our knees when he took over, like a fish out of water, if he goes, and I now think he might/should leave, but with head held high, and with us singing his name.
