if Warnock Goes

Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:25 pm

Who would you replace him with..?...I agree the football has been dire and the defence is far to slow and there is a distinct lack of creativity.
It all depends on whether the search has already begun ..which I would hope so after he said he was going after this season.
It asks a number of questions...do you bring someone in who can do well in the january window..... maybe with loans and a few buys..if the money is available.
Warnock stated earlier he was looking for a striker a right back and a midfielder in Jan...? does it suggest there is a small budget available then.
There is no doubt a number of this squad needs to be moved on...and has Warnock wasted too much with what he has already spent?

Or do we wait til the end of the season?
i dont know whether its better to wait til he goes...or will he walk before next May?

It's time to go for a young manger someone who has an attacking style of play, we need to forget this season there is no way we are going up. Give the new manager all of December to see this squad and move on all the dead weight in Jan and rebuild the squad ready to challenge next season.

If we don't change now I think we are going down.

Gareth Ainsworth.

IF they can get him , I would try everything to get Mikel Arteta from Man city.

Learning under Guardiola, loads of contacts, young and plays good football.

He is the type of manager we need to look for. A big championship team with money to spend might just appeal to him. Plus he could call on his connections at Man city and Arsenal for players.

What money do we have to spend? Do you know something we don't? Our 'marquee' signing was a 5.5m flop from german 2nd division.

We are not exactly skint
Our debts are pretty much sorted and we have 3 years of parachute payments and the money for the Reid sale to come. A new manager would have decent money to spend.

Warnock spent over 10 million this season so he cannot say he did not have money either

At the start of the season I would have said Alex Neil but he's doing a great job at Preston and probably has a chance of getting promoted with them so if we are doing the change halfway through the season id take Chris Hughton, Craig Bellamy, or Aitor Karanka with Hughton being my first choice.

Get in the Newport Manager, someone who is promising and welsh.

I really like the idea of getting Arteta from Manchester city. Tan would have to offer him a nice package with his promise of funds to buy some new players

I don’t believe any of the other managers will do any better than Warnock - many of them suggested are has-beens.
Need a young manager who plays and coaches an attacking style of football

If we cannot get Arteta, then look at the Spanish leagues for a young manager with an attacking flare for the game.

I agree we should look and install this new manager in December before the January transfer window

Arteta ffs. He was in the running for arsenal and will probably end up there if they continue as they are. Be realistic ffs

Lee bowyer
It's a no brainer he plays 442 diamond
Strongest part of our side is central ralls pack bacuna Tomlin
Would suit us and I hes not afraid to make changes during a game to a 433

Strongest part of our side is central ?
Our midfield is absolutely shocking and them not being able to pass or control the ball is our main issue.

Why wouldnt a young hungry manager like him want to take on a big team in the championship ?

We have money, it's a big club with a big fan base and a good squad

It's the perfect opportunity for a manager looking for his first job.

Derby didnt think they would get Lampard
Rangers didnt think they would get Gerrard
Leeds managed somehow to convince one of the worlds best managers to join them

We need to think outside of the box or we will end up with the same old merry-go-round managers like Hughes or Moyes

Re: if Warnock Goes

Quite right Thomas, if you don't ask you don't get!! Also if other managers see the calibre we are after they might also get interested, just hope we don't go down the Pulis or Hughes ( never forgive him for the Russia defeat )route, we need to catch up with modern football quickly!

Think you will find that we constantly miss out our midfield and just hook it on due to warnock wanting to get the ball forward quick as possible. Ralls pack bacuna and Tomlin r all footballers and playing it on the floor would suit us

Unfortunately Cardiff will only receive 2 years of parachute payments as a result of only having a single season in the Prem. The 3 year payment is only granted to clubs who previously played at least 2 consecutive seasons at the top before relegation.

Arteta is a decent shout. Didn’t he do his badges down here to? So he knows the area and has links down these ways.

Ainsworth would be my personal choice

Bellamy?

Really?

Not see the club statement last week?

Not Chris Houghton for a starter. He's had his day and is someone who would not improve the situation imo.

I do not agree with changing manager mid-season but if it is to happen then the upcoming international break is the time to do so. Give the new man 6 weeks to assess the squad before the January transfer window.
