Either won’t be involved. Junior has a strained hamstring and Sol, it’s not the kind of game to bring him in. If anything happened to the centre halves he would come in.

Junior will have it scanned this afternoon.





What Warnock said about Cardiff's start to the campaign

It’s frustrating. Quite easily we could have had seven or eight more points and you look at the league table and where that would have put us.

We haven’t got that ruthlessness and we need to get that.

If we can be there or thereabouts, from December time onwards we have a better run-in. I think it’s a better second half of the season.

I’ve been involved at Palace and QPR with London derbies and Sheffield derbies were special. My sister was a Wednesdayite.

I’ve been told what it’s like and I’m expecting it to be the same.

I know what the other derbies meant to people and how much people look forward to it.

Even though its a Championship not a Premiership derby. Especially in Wales, with the rugby and then the two top clubs in Wales really.

How Sunday will compare to other derby matches

It’s like that in Scotland, when I’m up there. I’ve got friends who are Celtic fans and there are no in between there with Rangers.

They are always special atmospheres. It’s why we are all involved really. Your heart beats a bit quicker and you have a few more nerves the night before.

It’s a really good start. I’ve always thought our first 15/16 games would be difficult. After Sunday we’ll have played eight away games and six at home. They’ve had a great start and it’s not easy for a young manager to come in and perform as he has.

He’s done really well. Not just the way he plays but the way he comes over, young manager caring.

It was a brave appointment at the time but he seems to have fitted. They have more points than us so it’s a better job.

It is a big clash of styles. Going back to (Roberto) Martinez. I always liked playing Garry Monk sides, it’s just how they are. It’s the way modern football is. A lot of managers want to play that way and good luck to them.

If you can get the happy medium… I think Liverpool played more direct balls a few weeks ago than we did. But because it’s Liverpool it doesn’t get noticed. I just want to play in the opponent’s half.

If you want me to pass the ball to Morrison on the six-yard box that’s not me.

Bacuna is back. He phoned up and had a bad stomach (before Millwall) and the doctor decided it was best he didn’t mix with the lads.

When they are not having 90 minutes, I don’t want to make them play in the under-23s, so when they do they’ve asked them.

I don’t think either manager will have to do a lot more motivation. What you have to remind players is not to lose your head.

You can get carried away. That’s what I’ve had in derby matches, people doing something out of character.

It means an awful lot. With so many players coming in from abroad, you lose a bit of that in certain derbies.

Even Liverpool-Everton, there’s not many Liverpool players left is there?

All I request is that both sets of fans behaved themselves. It’s an honour and a pride of the clubs.
I looked at the rugby and the Japanese mixing in with the opponents.

You can enjoy it without all the hostilities.

I said the other night, if you can’t win that… We haven’t had much luck. We have got to try to get a bit of luck.

You make your own luck at times and I thought we warranted it last night.

I gave instructions and they carried it out to a T.

I don’t really mind as long as England get there. We tried to change the training schedule so I could see it!

I was jumping up when Wales got the win last weekend, they had to work really had. The French lad will never be forgiven because they would have won that game. It shows the discipline needed. But you wouldn’t write Wales off.

Every game we do that. Don’t give it to them early doors. In four or five of the games we started poorly and that’s not us really.
I don’t think the ball will touch the floor for the first ten minutes.

I always think it’s Wacky Races, derby matches. I think it will be a good game.
