We are not losing games, we are not playing great but only 4 points off the play offs. Get our defence sorted and we'll nudge our way up that table I'm sure :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :old: :thumbright:

And we are looking much better upfront, Hoilett, Ward and Tomlin create more and Ward can get the goals :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Tend to agree.

I think it's all about staying in touch with the top 6 untill January then pushing on in the second half

With Bamba back and the acquisition of 1-2 players in January (loan is fine) I think we will finish in the top 6 comfortably.

Why would Tan back Warnock in Jan? New signings Warnock makes generally warm the bench so why bother. This is very hard to watch right now, it’s worse than slade and results right now are very similar but Warnock is getting away with it. We need someone who can start to rebuild in jan and will actually play new signings because they sign someone who will improve the team. It won’t be hard! We genuinely have so little quality it’s frightening.

Nice positive thread for a change, apart from Mr potato head  I've been saying for a few weeks, that although we are not firing on all cylinders ,we are still within touching distance of top two,let alone the playoffs,a bit more luck against Millwall and we'd have been 2 pts closer still, ward needs to start again against the swans, tomlin too (he will be a pain to them, winding them up)keep the faith :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old: :bluebird:

it wont be hard ?
apart from no one except Malky has had a comparable record managing us in this division since ive been going { 1970 }
your either very young or have a very poor memory.
be careful what you wish for

Bluesincewhenever this is a typical response from you I can’t be bothered discussing it with you.

Dogfound I have been going since the early 80’s and remember what it was like including our season of draws and dire football we had to feast on but we were not a relegated premiership club supposedly aiming back for the big time. This isn’t football it’s hard watching. Yet, because it’s being served up by a popular manager it’s apparently acceptable.

Our defence is a mess, We are way short in midfield and our wingers cannot cross for shit, our strikers give up in the end due to a severe lack of service and receive and get slated because they missed the odd chance they manage to create for themselves.

Slade (not a fans favourite) served up better football than what we currently have to sit through, and he could not spend a penny, he was there to sort out the huge mess left by OGS and was then slated by most of us. Warnock has spent good money to serve up this crap.

You can all pretend it’s rosy but it’s dire. The squad is poor the football is very poor and our manager cannot utilise a transfer window as he can’t seem to find better than we have!! He has wasted millions so why back him?

He’s had his day, he’s going end of season anyway, so why wait. Our squad needs a massive a massive clearance and an injection of quality desperately.

hmmm...….I think the wasted millions bit is being overdone mate
his first season he performed miracles and only paid out 2 small fees for halford and meite..
his first summer window he spent less in fees than Trollope had the previous summer which itself was not exactly pushing the boat out...
the prem ?..was a lot to spend for us but seriously when you have brighton , burnley and Huddersfield spending 15 mill or more on a single player it highlights the fact that it was nowhere near enough..
truth is we are not big spenders. and I absolutely hate seeing the list of these { huge } mistakes as it always makes me think how small time and unrealistic we must look to anyone reading who is not a City fan but whose club has spent far more on worse duds.
as for quality, as with anything , it costs top dollar.
Swansea had a striker last season who scored 22 in this division and sold him for 20 mill.
now I wouldn't call mcburnie top quality but 20 mill..? we paid 5 mill for the german and similar for Madine.{~ 25% the fee..25% the quality }
all things considered I think he has over achieved throughout his time here up against clubs that spend far more..it does involve finding a way im afraid but for me that's better than trying to imitate Barcelona ,not being remotely good enough to play that way ,and getting stuffed...

Well it’s not is it, we got £16m out on loan. Ok Reid doesn’t suit us as he ain’t tall enough for our long ball game. Cunningham though was a criminal decision, especially as Bennett is shocking this year. He’s bought in plenty of others and his transfers have been a topic of discussion before now.

His first season, even his second season yep give you those as fighting spirit, not quality, kept us going, but last season (the summer window) he didn’t address issues we all knew would send us down. We gave it a go but we knew we were lacking quality. He’s done the same this summer, once again he’s failed to address a serious lack of quality. Running through walls will get you so far but eventually you’ll fall short. We needed quality and we needed players to push for a starting spot. We didn’t need bench warmers such as nelson and vaulks.

Some people would have you believe that this brand of football is refreshing and better than possession football etc but it’s dire. However, It’s not the style I have a problem with, it’s the fact we can’t pass or cross or bleeding shoot properly that make it dire.

Quality doesn’t always cost the earth, but we payed £11m for Murphy - he doesn’t look like anything like an £11m player. I go back to Reid £11m what a waste, could have been spent better as could have the money we spent on vaulks, Cunningham etc the list goes on. It’s not about being unrealistic on money we spend. We need to spend it better.

Nelson and Vaulks are squad players. you have to have them and all clubs bring back up players in..and quite seriously £11 mill was an awful lot even 5 or 6 years ago but is not now..
your expectations exceed our budget and reality and yes his transfers have been a topic of discussion by the exact same people that knock him for anything and everything...invariably none can come up with examples of clubs who have a better financially comparable transfer policy...

No please do! Typical in what way?,I don't recall any similar posts re myself and you, plus there is nothing to discuss,my opinion differs from you,so what?I was pointing out the simple fact of it being a nice positive thread, until you entered the conversation, try putting you're eyes in the right place Mr potato head,if you don't like positivity threads, why not avoid them?your retort is funny,"you all "can pretend it's rosy, you all meaning the posters that have posted positively, against the one (you)who slag off the manager,in fact the whole squad of the team you supposedly support :sad7: I think you will find,I for one didn't slag slade off once! He was brought in to decimate the squad, and taking that into consideration, I thought it a tad unfair on him.Yet he still got us into a decent position (8th?)And just out of curiosity, who is going to finance this whole squad that, according to you needs replacing? By the way,if by typical post, you mean positive, that's just me,cup half full, unlike you,who seems to have spilt his milk (more than once) :old: :bluebird:

Try using some full stops, commas etc,you won't come across as just an angry man venting :thumbright: my first game was in 1967,and have been through some really bad seasons, but no way do I slag off the club I love,it achieves nothing, except to eat away at you.myself I take it each game at a time, get excited if we are near top 6 with a few games left, worried if we are near bottom likewise.I guess it's no good asking you to "keep the faith "as you have already lost it,it seems. :old: :bluebird:

Dogfound in one breath we couldn’t compete with Burnley or Brighton etc spending £15m on one player, in the next breath £11m; well, it’s not much money these days.

yes my point is, as im sure you know, is that we couldn't even stretch to the 15 mill that clubs like Huddersfield and brighton were spending
and no its not a lot in the premier league these days...FIFTEEN IS MORE THAN ELEVEN...30 odd percent more , shame you did not think about what my point was instead of looking for a stupid reply...

Re: Perspective

So £11m is not a lot but £15m is way beyond us. That smacks of desperation, especially as we spent £11m on Reid, £11m on Murphy plus money was spent ( wasted ) elsewhere. Thanks for tip on which number was greater. It’s amazing how £4m makes such difference. Surely he could have competed band not spent £4m elsewhere perhaps? Just a thought.

I will agree to disagree on this, I respect your opinions despite my disagreement with them. I also genuinely respect your positive outlook along with many others. I am sure we can all agree that we will all have everything crossed for Sunday and a first away win or even another point.

We could genuinely be back and forth all day just have the same disagreement.
