Cardiff boss Neil Warnock:

Wed Oct 23, 2019 4:43 am

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock:

"It is probably the most frustrated I've ever been this season, and there have been one or two moments. It is scandalous really. I just don't know what to say.

"I have never felt so comfortable at Millwall. We had shot after shot after shot, chances from corner kicks and everywhere.

"We were so charitable with the two goals and it is unbelievable really, so I am disappointed, especially as this is as good an away performance as you are going to get at a place like this. I can't see many teams dominating as much as we did."

That’s exactly how I saw it.

Millwall are a poor side and the only one with less possession stats than us. If we couldnt win that game we never will...15 goals conceded on the road in 7 games...thats relegation form.

It's not relegation form as we'd be in it.

If we did same at home games it would be

Needs addressing but by new player in central defence not Morrison

Commentator said the Den was a bit of a fortress. Not sure of stats to back that up though.

If you read what i said ...15 goals conceded in 7 away games is relegation form

one stat alone does not indicate promotion or relegation form.
away goals against..? you only have to look back to NWs first season where Wigan get relegated when no less than 16 teams had conceded more away while Reading finished third conceding the 2nd most away goals in the division...
its something that needs improving that's for sure but we aint going down.

They read what you said.

But we aren’t in the relegation zone or even close so it’s bollocks really.

No matter how poor a team appears on paper or league form one thing is sure and that any team can and will beat a team in form or top of league ! As we all know

thing is they've beaten 3 of the top 5 at the den …..
and their only defeat there this term came against 4th placed QPR..thats very decent home form but people are talking as if they are a league 2 team
we made thenm look far worse than they actually are...clearly

True we looked better yesterday going forward, disappointed with the goals conceded but still it was a good performance and we made them look poor!

I'm fed up of Sir Neils use of the word scandalous.

maybe some remember how bad, bad really is . and this really isn't .

I'm for one am very aware of how bad bad is.

May be we are better describing our current situation as disappointing and under performing and not bad.

Before we won our first promotion to PL we were knocking on the door playing really good football for several seasons. We've had two of the last five seasons in the PL with the money that brings. We didn't do a Fulham or a Wolves and haven't spend massively.

We've been top end of Championship now for a decade. The days of 2500 fans to watch Bury are a long time ago but we are not building and making the most of our potential. The message we've been given is one that the overwhelming majority of us buy into. We are being sensible, looking to the future.

The signings of Murphy and Reid were just that. We thought. Warnock hasn't developed them or made them better in any way.

We do not seem to be showing enough ambition whilst culmulatively spending out strong money on players who really are not top end championship players. Madine, Bacuna, Flint, Vaulkes, Vassel for starters.

All bought by Sir Neil for his style that frankly won't be fancied by his successor.

Not beating Millwall was not scandalous. We gifted them two goals and scored two ourselves. That made it a draw. Millwall clearly a little jeckyl and hyde. They've had some good results but some bad ones too. Appreciate the venue but it wasn't exactly full and intimidating on Tuesday and Millwall were really not very good. It was a great opportunity to grab three points but the squad now assembled weren't good enough.

it was a while ago but it lasted a long long time ..yes it would be nice if we could move onto the next level whatever that is ? { a yoyo club having 3/4 year stints struggling in the prem maybe } because football is about trying to win and trying to be better.
but personally having experienced the prem twice I don't think its all its cracked up to be .I enjoy the championship where you can win or lose every game. as for Millwall, no its not intimidating { I went Tuesday and it was a million miles away from how I remember my visits to the old den and quite away short of my previous visit to this ground about 15 years ago but they have a good home record especially considering they have already played 4 of the top 6 there
