Murphy Again Tonight Woeful

Tue Oct 22, 2019 9:15 pm

The only thing that surprised me tonight was Warnock not taking him back off after he brought him on.

With Hoilett looking likely to miss Sunday I prey to God Murphy doesn’t replace him once again no fight no passion no desire doesn’t want to be here.

Who would you go with, Murphy or NML? Id lean towards NML but neither seem appealing right now. Such a shame if Hoilett misses the game as he looked so good tonight

Agreed.

Does anyone think Murphy has it in him to effect a highly charged derby fixture on Sunday? I don't.

It has to be NML and Whyte on the wings, we need workers and characters this Sunday! I would start Bamba (even if not 100% fit, we can't defend any worse than tonight) and Paterson too, we can't be the soft touch we were tonight!

the two goals were awful defensively but as a team a soft touch we were not.

Hate watching Murphy, he plays for a few minutes, flatters to decieve and then is a total passenger. Will not tackle, ducks out, dives, so weak, lazy, exposes our fullback....he looks like an under 12 playing senior football.
For £10M probably the worst signing City have had....get rid and play an under 14 instead!

He can’t play in the derby. He’s a sh1t house.

I get the feeling he doesn’t want to be here, like Reid. Problem is nobody is going to pay for him if he plays like this.

That romeo read him like a book. Hes had enough game time now for us to make a judgement and he was well over priced.

That's a Bit harsh on Murphy last night. He looked outnumbered and lacked support.

Not sure what you’re on about tbh, he a few killer crosses despite being double marked in his 20 minutes.

Just because he’s not pulling off stepovers left right and centre or scoring goals doesn’t mean he’s a bad winger

Personally I would play Gavin White on the left to help with Bennets frailties and NML on the left on Sunday . Murphy is a shadow of last season and cannot seem to go past the full back.

Murphy is undoubtedly our best attacking player and laid one on the plate for Patterson! But like Reid he has been ruined by Warnockball which demands he spends most of time defending which he is not very good at!

He’s a quality player. If he’s doubled, that creates space elsewhere. In effect, the opposition realise he’s a major threat.
Also, he’s young and still developing.
