MY VIEW: CARDIFF WILL TONIGHT FEEL LIKE THEY

Tue Oct 22, 2019 8:39 pm

MY VIEW/OPINION

CARDIFF WILL FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE DROPPED 2PTS TONIGHT AFTER CREATING MANY CHANCES & SHOULD OF BEEN 3-1 UP BEFORE MILLWALL EQUALISED TO MAKE IT 2-2.

You could say a draw away from home is good, but 2pts were def lost tonight.

The positives were City created a lot of chances.

Negatives poor defending by City tonight cost them the goals.

First-half: City created by far the better chances and can feel hard done by going in at 1-1 after an own goal by Sean Morrison.

Cardiff City: Etheridge; Peltier, Flint, Morrison, Bennett; Pack, Ralls; Whyte, Tomlin, Hoilett; Ward

Subs: Smithies, Nelson, Paterson, NML, Murphy, Bogle, Glatzel

After early pressure from Millwall, Cardiff in the 12th min made it 0-1 :bluebird:
Ward headed low into the net , City’s first opportunity from a cross from the left :bluebird:

After 35mins Millwall have had most possession but City had created the better chances :bluebird:

City came under pressure in dying minutes,Morrison scoring an own goal, a deflection from a Millwall shot.

H/T. 1-1

Cardiff started brightly with Tomlin having a shot just over the bar .

57th min Hoilett received a flicked pass on the left-hand edge of the area, before curling a hell of shot into the bottom corner (1-2) :bluebird: :bluebird:

Millwall then took the game to Cardiff looking for the equaliser.

Junior Hoilett limped off injured and was replaced by Josh Murphy.

City now pressed forward and it was end to end :bluebird:

77th min Millwall broke away and made it 2-2

Etheridge then made a good save.

Poor defending cost us 2 points. The sooner Bamba’s back, the better.

Arguably our best away performance of the season. First time I feel like we've genuinely been robbed.

Defence let us down. Morrison and Flint should've scored. Joe Bennett poor also. Both gifted equalisers.

Better football, decent passing and movement and looked a lot better going forward

But once again sloppy defending and numerous missed chances

We could and should have won this game comfortably

We made balls up of that we should have won but thats the story of our season away? Several games should have won but giving away goals like xmas presents to opposition,
If Won tonight we'd be up amongst top group
:banghead:

Opportunity missed.

That should have been our first away win.

Can only be disappointed.

First time this season we have played a side actually worse at passing the ball than us. Should have won but away from home you always feel our defence is never far from making some catastrophic mistake. Two bog standard mid table sides going through the motions. At least Swansea will be feeling worse than us tonight.

Should have won that. Tomlin, Whyte, Hoilett and Ward is the right combo going forward home and away and looked good tonight, however the defence looks a shambles.

Gave them a point tonight

Liked the creativity

But defending cost us

Flint is a Donkey, the sooner Bamba is back the better. Hoillet is a big loss as he looks like hes done his hamstring. Murphy is a lazy tw*t who don't try a leg.

Hoilett was having a fab game until his injury, if he is out for a while he will be a massive loss. Murphy when coming on showed little appetite and was lethargic with the ball and failed to get past his man on every attempt. How can a player that was so quick and skilful be so cumbersome this season? Flint was crap and will be lucky to keep his place when Bamba is fully fit. Ward looked dangerous all game.

It's becoming increasingly likely that we will have a mid table finish due to lack of ambition.
