ARE WE GOING BACK TO THE PREMIER?

Mon Oct 21, 2019 5:29 pm

A lot have said on the forum they would be able to judge which direction we are going in after 10 games,we are now 13 games in , imo i cannot see a return even in the play offs at the moment,
other teams would have to change and drop suddenly and we will have to change but i cannot see anything we can do to alter where we are, the only hope i have for boosting the team and perhaps changing things is if bamba comes back,
We have tried madine ward glatzal bogle, and are still finding it very hard to score and dominate a game ,
Hoping it changes sooner rather than later.

Not with the current team and tactics

Would you want to go back ?

Unless we invest £70m in squad minimum will be same as last time

we had a big change around in playing staff during the summer ~{ 6 players who made 20 apps or more left } plus Bamba out long term which was added to by injuries to Etheridge and Pack. so I think we are doing ok and looking at the erratic form with most clubs I don't see why not the play offs.

It's a funny old game mind.
I genuinely do not think this will happen but look at Reading in 2011-12. They were 16th after 15 games and ended up winning the league that year.
Regardless, Even now there is still a long old slog left.

Sticking with my original prediction. I think we can finish in the top ten. Will need a lot of luck and the rub of the green to get a play off spot, but not impossible just yet.

I Reckon we'll finish around where we currently are so 10th, 11th, 12th.

We will be top 6. The league is almost meaningless at this stage. A lot of the teams up their will not be come the end of the season and their will be teams currently in the bottom half battling for top 6 places.

WBA will win the league but second place is up for grabs for a good number of teams. Think Leeds and the most overrated manager in the history of football will f**k it up again and end up losing in the playoffs.

This is about the time I start paying a bit of attention to league tables. We are more than a quarter of the way through the season, and so far I have seen nothing to suggest we are good enough for a top six spot. We need a big improvement and our fair share of luck if we are going to get there. I thought if luck was with us, we may just scrape into the play offs. Looks unlikely now, but I have not given up hope just yet.

One poster said we (leeds) have the most over rated manager ever in football OK your entitled to your opinion etc I'm not here to argue but hand on heart honest answer bielsa v warnock at this stage of the season who would you rather have as your gaff?
He took us to withing 1 point of a top 2 finish with the same squad as the previous season that failed badly.
Yr 2 he's only brought in 6 players in 2 years and then compare him to warnock?
Final position at end of season will prove one of us right but for me it's a no brainer sorry but it's bielsa for me he has it all does warnock!!

Sticking to my original prediction of 12/13th as I’ve seen nothing to change my mind. May scrape up to about 8th with a push. Giving away sloppy goals and not taking our chances. The return of Sol & the transfer window may help.

I think some of the team selections this season have been poor. Etheridge had been on the bench for a while but the biggest puzzle is how Hoilett has played so little time being behind Whyte in selection? Whyte has no end product and Hoilett is far more creative with a decent cross & shot.

Nope.

Hindsight a wonderful thing but all the realistic comment on here after four games seems to have been completely justified. Reality is we weren't good enough at the start and aren't good enough now. For a side based on defence, we have started this season without Bamba and Manga. And their replacements not good enough; and Morrison being shown to be not good enough either. Add to that the departure of Gunnar in his role in front. We were unlucky with Packs injury and Etheridges, though a £3.5 million replacement in goal, but it's not unlucky that we've just not replaced Bruno whilst we also knew Bamba had a long term injury. And we still don't have an alternative to Peltier at rb after I don't know how many transfer windows. Yet we have I don't know how many strikers! And the two strikers that look most likely to unlock a defence in Ward and Tomlin have been here all the time but for on reason or another not had time on the pitch. It's been said but I'm happy to repeat that recruitment has been topsy turvy and our squad hugely unbalanced and its now being seen to cost us in what seems a generally poor quality division.

Plenty actually one loss in 10 the return of two of our most crucial players in Etheridge and Bamba. The fact that Warnock might actually start dropping Murphy. Ward scoring goals. The fact that other than WBA no other team is that much better than us when you take into account squad and manager.

We will go on a nice 3 or 4 game winning run soon enough let’s hope it starts at the Jacks :ayatollah:

Warnock by a mile been promoted out of championship numerous times. Where as Bielsa is an expert in failure who has failed at every club job he has had outside of Argentina. Like I said the most overrated manager in the history of football. Treated like some sort of genius yet wins sweet FA.

Whyte has been playing well Murphy however has been dogshite and his attitude the last few appreances have been shocking needs to be dropped to the under 23s until he actually starts to work hard. I agree with Hoilett however one of our best players and should be one the first names on the team sheet every week.

We are all looking forward to the return of Bamba. He has though had a serious injury and well into his 30s. At the very best, it's going to take some time for him to get back to where he was.
