Structurally, these buildings have a shelf life before they become very expense to maintain in order to meet their health and safety requirements for events such as football matches. Plus, also financially, a new ground can return far bigger event income through larger crowds/hospitality etc. Plus the club becomes more attractive to new fans and prospective players alike. I agree that it’s hardly a romantic tale

This new ground looks quite bizarre because it is built with a railway line or tube line on three sides of it. The nearest train station is the overground Kew Bridge Station which is literally a stones throw away (behind one of the new stands). The new ground will be capable of holding 17,250 fans (including 2,930 Premium Seats) 5,000 more capacity than Griffin Park. Currently Brentford only allocate 1,600 tickets for away fans. It is hoped that will rise to around the 2,000 mark. To be frank the new location is even better than Griffin Park (even without the pub on every corner).

Brentford Station was nearest to the old ground. Kew Bridge is 100% the nearest station to the new ground.

Take my boy down Brentfors a lot and am gonna really miss Griffin Park but the Brentford owner has some big ambitions and it fills a nice community role with London Irish as well so good for the area in general.
