3 things we learnt about Cardiff City as unbeaten run ends at West Brom

Cardiff City’s seven game unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end yesterday as they lost 4-2 at West Brom in a six-goal thriller at The Hawthorns.
Whilst Neil Warnock’s side managed to ensure a nervy finish, with Romaine Sawyers not sealing the points until stoppage time, the reality is that they were outclassed for large parts – particularly in the first-half.
The Baggies were two up at the break after classy finishes from Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana and Charlie Austin looked to have made the game safe with a third in the 71st minute.
However, two Danny Ward goals set up a grandstand finish although the Bluebirds couldn’t nick a point.
And, here we look at THREE things we learnt about Cardiff from this game…
They are some way behind the best in this league
The surprise packages of the EFL so far
It has to be said that going to The Hawthorns is about as tough as it gets right now but Cardiff were second best for the first 70 minutes and the first half was embarrassing at times.
Considering the Welsh outfit were in the top-flight last season, they shouldn’t be so far behind the Baggies and the lack of quality on the ball compared to Albion was alarming.
Glatzel needs to improve
You have to have some sympathy for the striker as he had a goal ruled out and it looked like a harsh call, however you can’t excuse his miss prior to that header.
The summer signing was six yards out and in the middle of the goal when he was found superbly by Junior Hoilett but he somehow missed.
Cardiff needed the third goal and had he scored it would have been an interesting ending.
He has only netted twice in the league this season and that’s not good enough, they need more and his place has to be under threat after Ward’s impressive cameo.
There is a lot of fight in the team
Despite the overall negativity following the loss, Cardiff do deserve credit for the spirit they showed.
They were really up against it at times but they stood firm and the fact they had the home crowd waiting desperately for the final whistle deserves immense credit.
Warnock’s men won’t come up against opponents with the quality of Albion every week so fans should be pleased that they have a group that will fight for everything and never give up.

If we dont change the tactics and being realistic about team selection then a No from me

He obviously hasnt taken look at wba since last season because they've got billic as manager brought in quality players while we have stood still So thats the difference !
