CHANGES: “ TODAYS CARDIFF TEAM NAMED & WBA “

Sat Oct 05, 2019 1:04 pm

:bluescarf:

So, it looks like Joe Ralls didn’t quite pass his late fitness test and it means Callum Paterson, fresh from his goal midweek, starts in that No.10 role, with Lee Tomlin dropping to the bench.

It is a shame Tomlin is demoted back to the bench, especially after his encouraging display against QPR, but Neil Warnock has opted for the brawn of Paterson at The Hawthorns.

Elsewhere, Josh Murphy drops to the bench, as is typical away from Cardiff City Stadium, with Junior Hoilett filling that left-wing berth.

It’s as expected really, with Warnock opting for a little more industry and a little more cautious in terms of defence, which is understandable when coming up against a team playing as well as West Brom are.

In the opposition ranks, former Bluebird Kenneth Zohore takes his place on the bench.

Team news!

Cardiff City (4-2-3-1): Smithies; Peltier, Morrison, Flint, Bennett; Pack, Bacuna; Whyte, Paterson, Hoilett; Glatzel

Subs: Etheridge, Coxe, Nelson, Tomlin, Mendez-Laing, Murphy & Ward.

West Brom (4-2-3-1): Johnstone; Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley, Ferguson; Livermore, Sawyers; Phillips, Pereira, Diangana; Austin

There is a reason we are struggling away from home , it's because we dont create enough chances. So why drop our most creative player to play somebody out of position instead ?

Tomlin should be playing he makes us a totally different team

Looks like we'll be defending very deep. Backs to the wall, no midfield outlet and 3-1 to the Baggies. Boing bloody boing

I wouldn’t play Murphy and Tomlin together in an away just yet but would have have started Tomlin over Paterson.

I agree with regards to Tomlin buts that’s Warnock in a nutshell.
Let’s hope he proves us wrong! :laughing6:
