" Marlon Pack "

Potentially our best signing for a while.

Does the simple things well. Find the right passes. Chipped in with a goal tonight.

Whenever I've seen him play, I've had no criticism.

Very happy with him.

Big improvement on Gunnarsson.

Id prefer Gunnarsson from what ive seen so far but i guess i havent seen him all that much this season.

Bacuna was again the best midfielder on the pitch for me last night.

He certainly had another great game! Pack might have just sneaked MoM but those 2 are proving to be the best signings in years.

Let's hope Robert Glatzel will soon join them

Bacuna looked good to me. He also has pace to drive forward. Lovely ball in for Patterson's goal. We have some competition in midfield when ralls Tomlin Patterson in the mix too.

I like him, not seen enough to judge him fully yet but early signs are he is what we needed.

Both played well, it's funny only a few weeks ago Bacuna was the boo-boys favourite and shit according to them!

To me he just looked a little lost at the time. He looked to have a decent touch etc. Just now he seems to know what he's meant to do

I completely disagree from what I’ve seen.
I think he’s twice the player Gunnarsson was especially in the last few years where mostly his contribution on the pitch was running around wildly, pointing a lot and passing to the opposition.

Pack brings much more control to the midfield, a calmness in which he rarely seems rushed and actually passes the ball well.

respectfully.... thats revisionist nonsense. Gunnars always got a raw deal from some, despite far outplaying and outperforming Pack over many years.

Packs done ok, nothing special atm and was sloppy several times on wednesday.

Mate, it’s not revisionist, it’s my own views from what I see with my own eyes.
Gunnarsson was a spent force in my opinion for the reasons I’ve given but of course, as ever, it’s all about differing opinions.

At the level our team is at the moment I think he’s like a like a breath of fresh air.

So you're a 'revisionist' now then, mate! :laughing6:

A strange use of the term, which effectively accuses you of changing your mind :?

Not sure how that could have occurred after he (Pack) has only just joined, so any earlier comparison would be difficult to say the least. But hey-ho!

I'm with you on your comments. Marlon Pack has been a breath of fresh air when playing and it showed when he was injured so early. The team took a couple of games to re-adjust when it was clear the game-plan was built around him doing his specific job

As for Gunnar? A decent player for Cardiff City but he stayed at least one (and probably two) year too long IMHO and whilst being an important squad member, he didn't rise to the standards once seen of him

Agree with all the points Sven raises. I could see Gunnars waning and deffo stayed at least a year too long, possibly two.

That doesn't mean I don't respect and thank Gunnars for all he has done for our club, a great servant and has my total respect.
