‘ Leandro Bacuna ‘

Easily the biggest positive for Cardiff City in September was the emergence of Leandro Bacuna.

The midfielder endured a horrendous start to the month when his Curacao team-mate and close friend Jarzinho Pieter passed away of a suspected heart attack while they were away on international duty.

His travel arrangements then meant he arrived just 24 hours before the game against Derby County, but put in a superb display.

He then backed that up with another brilliant outing in the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough, rendering himself virtually undroppable.

Following the draw at Hull City, in which he provided the assist for Robert Glatzel's goal, manager Neil Warnock said: "He got slaughtered early on in his career for us. They always pick on one don't they, but he's been outstanding the last four to five matches

"He was my man of the match again today and has been the last few weeks. He covered every blade of grass."
