' LEE TOMLIN '

The man so many Cardiff fans want in the team

The truth is if Cardiff want to evolve their style of play, perform with more panache to go with the power, then Tomlin has to be given a run of games as first choice 10.

It's what so many of the fans feel should happen, but there is only one man whose opinion really matters.

And, rightly or wrongly, you feel Warnock veers away from that idea.

To be fair, Tomlin has probably had more minutes this season than anyone imagined.

Started against Huddersfield before being replaced, likewise in the games against Blackburn and Fulham.

With Bobby Reid unexpectedly departing in the summer, Tomlin is the one player left who offers the craft and guile the team desperately need in the final third of the pitch.

Yet he has dropped out of the pecking order, not seen since being replaced by Paterson 64 minutes into the 1-1 home draw with Fulham.

Talk about contrast. Cardiff's lump it up to Paterson tactics in the closing 20 minutes played into Fulham's hands after Harry Arter had been sent off. The creativity and vision of Tomlin was what was desperately required to unpick the Fulham rearguard and enable Cardiff to take advantage of their extra man.

Many fans believe that if Cardiff are going to start winning more games and climbing the table, Tomlin's range of passing has to form part of the mix.

It's unlikely he will start either of the two upcoming matches, much to the frustrations of supporters, but he's also too good a footballer to keep down.

Cardiff are unbeaten in six and that needs to be the base form which to kick on. But there comes a time when the draws need to be turned into three point victories - and Tomlin's craft offers something the others lack.

A deliberately controversial article. I’d like to make 2 points:-
1). In the Fulham game, Tomlin was clearly tired by the last 20 minutes, and Patterson was able to win more balls in the air than Tomlin. We created far more chances once he went off.
2). The continuing improved form of Bacuna, who fits more into Warnock’s style of play.

It’s a long season, and Tomlin now has a role to play.

Also, Tomlin wasn't available for two of the games because he had a car crash and was injured!!!

It probably didn't please Warnock that one of his players was involved in a car crash either.

The articles first line is correct I believe.

We need to see a lot more of Tomlin In my opinion but Warnock obviously doesn’t trust him in his style of more industrial football.

If he’s picking the same midfield as Saturday then there’s no room in that formation for a no.10.

This is the real reason why we won't see Tomlin anytime soon

You know that it was Tomlins fault regarding the car crash?

Tomlin doesn't have 90 minutes in him. He was spent against Fulham. Why though he can't be an impact player and come on with half an hour to go when opposition are tiring I have no idea. Other than its not Sir Neils way.

I was wondering that but let's be honest Warnock has his favs, over time Tomlin and Bogle were always going to be fazed out or be bit part players.

You mean because he had the audacity to step inside a car?

What makes you say the last paragraph? Do you know something regards the accident he was involved in? Because, unless he was drink/drug driving (which is unlikely, as the press would be all over it)cannot see why Warnock would be upset otherwise :?:
He doesn't have a say in who drives a car and when, for any of his players.it was described as an accident, unlike the derby players, who crashed whilst pissed, and if stories are true drugged up also, therefore they crashed their cars, not an accident.I believe tomlin will play a big part in what is a very long season. :old: :bluebird:

He needs to be more involved whether it's starting or impact sub. Paterson is not the answer and bacuna pack or ralls can hold a cm 2 with Tomlin 10 imo
