Another key figure under Warnock
Another Warnock kingpin, he was dropped to the bench at Hull.
But it's evident the manager loves him. Another who gives absolutely every last drop to the cause and who has scored goals, whether in the 10 role or as an out and out centre-forward.
Paterson just behind Robert Glatzel is actually pivotal to the way Warnock wants to play, with deep balls pumped up, Paterson battling with the opposition centre-halves and winning his fair share of headers.
It's not overly-subtle, but it's Warnock's Way through and through. Paterson will be hoping for the nod again on Wednesday night.
Then again, what about the claims of the fans' favourite?
