Watching Swansea v Cardiff in Mumbles

Thu Sep 26, 2019 6:49 pm

As it’s my birthday around the date of this match my Mrs has the bright idea of arranging to go to stay with friends in their caravan on a site near Swansea airport.
I said that I must see the match (in Sky) and she has suggested that we pop to a pub in the Mumbles to watch it.
Bearing in mind that I’m not the sort to keep quiet during the match - though I wouldn’t be pi$$ taking or let the banter get out of control - do you think it’s a wise idea?
We do have the option of just driving home on Sunday morning though that’s not ideal as would be probably over the limit.
Cheers in advance.

Terrible idea mate.

You might not look for trouble but it would almost certainly find you, like.

Someone would have a pop at you almost 100% certain of that and guessing you wouldn't want that if with the family.

That’s what I’m thinking mate.
Particularly if fans who actually went to the match pile in to the pub later :occasion5:

Exactly mate, I wouldnt risk it if I were you butt. I like the Mumbles.

I used to go to the White Rose quite a bit years ago but it's only going to take one gypo to take exception to you being there and you're day is ruined.

We usually go to the pub next to the rugby club - can’t remember the name.
Agree. Only takes one tw@t.
I’m too old in the tooth for that crap now and like I said, I wouldn’t enjoy it if I had to be quiet. I don’t think I’d be able to actually. :bluescarf:

No one in the mumbles would do shit. Anywhere else and you might have an issue though

for sure Butty or the Bell in Taibach is a Bluebird pub too anywhere else you'll find a mixed crowd and a more hostile atmosphere avoid the Grand Hotel opposite the station, where it usually goes off with small fracas. You won't go wrong with the Burgess or the Bell and the drinks are a lot cheaper than the mumbles.
