‘ We gave him away ‘

Thu Sep 19, 2019 3:13 pm

Cardiff / Warnock gave him away to Rotherham and we’ve signed a defender for £5m Aden Flint, yes I rate Flint, but why do we keep giving players away.

Just gave away Kadeem Harris as well and look How Harris is doing at Wednesday.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION: FANS PRAISE IMPACT OF SEMI AJAYI

West Bromwich Albion fans have been praising summer signing Semi Ajayi after the club tweeted out his statistics for the season so far.

The defender has started and finished all seven Championship games this season, completing 308 passes, winning 27 aerial duels, making 25 clearances and scoring one equalising goal away to Fulham (via Twitter). The 25-year-old has also won the joint-most aerial duels of any player in the West Brom squad this season (via WhoScored).

Tbh.. As soon as any youngster has a bad game or makes a mistake, the majority of fans write them off and demand for better players right now. I'm not saying this influences the management, but it's the same fans that then moan that we 'gave' them away, not directed at you annis just in general.
Teams like Norwich, sheff u, Brentford are showing you give untried youth time without the immediate demand for sucesss it will pay off. The problem is NW proved a model (promotion on the cheap) and now the owners hope it will continue to work.

Letting Kadeem gowns a big mistake
He never let us down when he played and never really got a proper run in the team.
He always showed potential we just did not use it.

Ajayi could have gone either way, he could just as easily be playing conference football now. Hes still not great to be honest hes just had a good start to the season in a good team

Any player plays better in a system that suits them! NW system suits particular players but unfortunately we cannot play all 11 of his type or we would be relegated? Why do you think none of our strikers since Dave Jones era have done particularly well? The system that managers employed since then meant service was restricted!! :old:

I bet NW wishes he could give 1 or 2 still at the club away ;)

The Warnock system only caters to donkeys who work hard unfortunately. We've lost a fair bit of talent of the last few years because they are tired of chasing shadows for 90mins twice a week, up and down the pitch like a basket ball player, never getting the chance to build any confidence on the ball or developing technical ability. Players don't improve here apart from their fitness, and don't ever seem to be enjoying the beautiful game with us, so inevitably it's out the door eventually. Unless you are a player like Ralls or Bennet who are thanking their lucky stars that they get to start week in week out.

I love what Neil has done for our club and fans but I'm quite looking forward to a new flavour on show at the CCS next season.

Harris just wasn't wanted by Warnock on the wages he was on.

Ajayi is a bit different, if he had stayed would he have developed? he wouldn't have got in the team promotion season or last season in the premiership. I can see why he was let go.

I remember similar with Malky and Rudy, loaning him out wit the option to buy for pennies. While I understand him being loaned out I couldn't understand the option to buy, if he did well (he did) he was always going to command a good fee.

personally I think all the managers over the last decade or so haven't loaned out players enough, get the games and then either bring them back to play or sell them for a decent fee.

Yes, in hindsight possibly.
Didn’t he play under about five different managers so none of rated him. If he’d have shown promise or was pulling up trees in training I’m sure he’d have a decent run in the first team.
He looked ok to me, was fast but no different to many.

Some players just click with different teams just look at Di Maria at Man Utd and PSG.

People can say what they want now and will obviously but there has been very little if any at all shouting that Kadeem should have been in the team be it on here or the streets/pubs of the ground and I cant remember anyone on here being particularly vocal about him over the years.

The 'Kadeem Harris should be starting' threads have been few and far between if at all put it that way.

Annis how can you say why do we just give players away when you are regularly moaning we have too many players earning wages that aren’t playing? He was probably on 2/3k a week and now where near the first team at the time. The club hasn’t got a time machine, different players excel at different times. Move on
