Robert Glatzel

Seen a few commenting on here about him not scoring yet etc.
What is everyone's thoughts?

Having watched him play, he's got a lot about him. Quality link up play, you can see he's a very good footballer.
I think as soon as the first goal comes, they're going to come in bulks then! Bit like when Chopra played for us.
5 games without a goal, then ended up going on a red hot scoring streak!

Im happy with him from what ive seen. I didn't expect any striker who brought in to get many goals in our set up.

You have to play to his strengths, (as with any striker) which we don't.
He's too isolated and our wingers can't put in decent crosses.
Perhaps someone can say the last time, and how many this season, have we scored from a good cross into the box from a winger?

Got a feeling he will get his first goal tonight.

He’s a good footballer and has all the attributes a striker needs. Hopefully he will be given time and service to get on the scoresheet regularly.

The comment about crosses from wingers is spot on, he needs better service.

The big worry with him are the chances he has missed. He should have scored a couple as he has had a few easy chances but has fluffed every one of them .

Cant fault his work rate but cant at the moment see what he brings that we already didnt have in the squad

Hopefully that will change because if we just wanted effort and someone to win knock ons then we could have just used Patterson

It's a shame he hasn't nicked a goal mate but IMO you can't judge him until the end of the season.

We have written off a lot of strikers since Dave Jones left this Club and the truth is they can't all have been that bad but our style of play under the managers that followed just hasnt been conducive to a striker that is going to bang in 20 goals a season.

Having said all that, looking at his history, and the fact he will be 26 in January I'm not entirely convinced he would be that person anyway, his record doesn't look very good to me.

Played most of his careeer in the reserves then has a goals to game ratio of 1 in 4 for Kaiserslautern in Bundesliga 2 then 1 in 3.2 for Heidenheim in the same Division.

Im not sure what standard you would class Bundesliga 2 as but I don't think its anywhere near the quality of the Championship.

He shows what he brings to team but unless he gets support he is going nowhere fast regarding goals? Unfair to expect him to have one chance per game and score after being frustrated by NW tactics rest of game?
