In Warnock we love

Sat Aug 24, 2019 9:28 pm

Typical Warnock response to the away displays we’ve had. Keep in shut at the back and let’s try to pooch one on the break. This is where we overcame our previous peril and where we’ll do so again.

By far the best manager we’ve ever had. No other manager could command that immediate response. Let’s get in the trenches and battle all season. Many will wimp out in our trail

Always wondered, if Dave Jones had been given the money Warnock was given, where would he have taken us. Thought he was a right miserable git but his teams, on the whole, played some good football.

Players are not good enough, no ambition again by Tan, no quality. Just look at the top two last season of the Championship when City went up with Wolves, Wolves had far more ambition and spent money on quality players ready for the Premiership , Cardiff came straight back down to the Championship. This season the same again, bargain basement players, that lack quality. “Same old story.” No ambition.

Bit unfair on tan there With the size of Fosun worth over 73.5 billion and Tan one 100th of that amount Tan spent a higher % of his wealth than Fosun We are closer to Tans wealth than he is to Fosun The Fulham owner is worth 7.3 billion Unfortunately we can not compete with that spending

I've wondered about that too. Loved the football and the players under Dave Jones but they were mentally weak imo. Would money have made a difference to that? who knows.

That side he put together that lost to Reading in the play offs was the best attacking Cardiff side I have seen and possibly the best overall and I go back to the days of Toshack. Our front six was Bellamy, Chopra, Bothroyd, Whittigham, Burke and one of Drinkwater/Ramsey/Koumas and Olifingana(or whatever his name was). And we weren't too bad at the back with Marshall, McNaughton and Hudson. How the hell we didn't win the league by Easter I don't know.

Trouble was he made a couple of big mistakes in dropping Burke for Emmanuel Thomas in which we picked up two points from 12 in relatively easy games and crucifying a very young Adam Matthews for one mistake at Ipswich and replacing him with that donkey Naylor. The manager who won the league that year with a less talented QPR side was a certain Mr.Warnock!

Meanwhile back in 2019,”No statement of intent by Tan “Too many eggs in other baskets” Of course it’s fair Wolves invested and are reaping the rewards.
