MY VIEW/OPINION : “ FOR ME CARDIFF ARE STILL LACKING “

MY VIEW/OPINION

FOR ME CARDIFF ARE STILL LACKING UPFRONT & DON’T CREATE ENOUGH CLEAR CUT CHANCES .

88th min Blackburn hit the post, nearest anyone scoring,as in the last few minutes City defence began to panic a bit.
City should of won this game earlier on and for me their best away performance so far, but lacking upfront.

Clean away sheet :bluebird:

First-Half:

Real end to end football with Blackburn missing some sitters, but Cardiff defended well :bluebird:
City players ran for every ball and made some good tackles.
But created little inside the Blackburn penalty area.
Bacuna hit the post in the first half.

Second-half:
Cardiff City took more control and for majority of the game were in the Blackburn half.
City looked like the team more likely to score, but finishing let them down.

Blackburn have kept clean sheets in their last 3 games so was always going to be tough away especially the way we play.

I think like other teams who came down we are struggling to adjust a little. I think 4 points this week is a good return. Plenty to work on but after the reading performance I think it's been a good week.

Away point is always a good point better shooting and could bern been different 13 shots only 3 on target! :o

I'm really struggling to come to terms with the way we are playing !! Not sure if it was a good point away or we are just plain struggling.
If warnock is looking at free agent he needs it now

Cardiff City earned their first point on the road this season after playing out a goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

In an unspectacular affair, both sides scarcely troubled the opposition goalkeeper, but each managed to rattle the woodwork.

There were glimpses, but no individual player grabbed hold of the game and made it their own - and there were opportunities to do so.

Its a mix of NW (football) and playing it out from back without using keeper! Its the final ball that's the problem to many times in good positions but ball hit to hard or to high when needed to be on floor to bogle or gratzel... ball into middle very poor aswell especially from dead ball situation

Totally agree. The quality of balls forward and from dead ball situations was very poor at times. It was sloppy given half this team has played at a higher level. Blackburn were there for the taking and with more urgency and quality we should have had 3 points. However, an away point and a clean sheet is encouragement. What was also much better today was the organisation at the back and the tracking back from the mid-field. Ralls MOM today.

Dead ball is a concern considering we have 2 6ft+ players in box large amounts of time ball goes to keeper! No variation corners just lobbed in! free kicks never look dangerous whether it's a shot or put in middle? Where is a whitts when you need him? :laughing6:
No we looked more connected from back if a bit hesitant especially Morrison when he was out wide late in game

Watching other teams in this division knocking it around at pace and scoring goals whereas City are so dull is galling.

Are we suffering from a Premier league hangover?
Lots of teams struggle the season after coming down.
We aren't any different.
Think there maybe 1 or 2 coming in next week

Bacuna hit post in first half. Think a point a fair result.
Bennett much better today.
First away point-and a clean sheet, , something to build on.
A good point.

Pre season this was the type of away game I thought we would win but with only one creative player in Tomlin , I think we simply won’t create enough chances to score enough goals in games like this that we need to win.....there are lots of Blackburn’s in this league....solid and hard to break down.
City don’t look like a top 6 team at mo I’m afraid but let’s hope NW can do his magic again..

Is what it is at the moment. We’ve shipped so many goals with many of them being errors. Let’s tighten up at the back first while our new strikers bed in - once we’re consecutively solid at the back we will start to push forward more and create more.

I have posted some damning stuff on Warnock over last few weeks but my first positive post.
* Kept a winning team.
* Kept Tomlin and Bogle in the the squad ..that must of hurt
* 4 point / 2 game gets us promoted ! Although we are behind that curve .
* We beat Fulham and its another few weeks to get our injured nearer to playing.

Glatzel is now 4 games in and no goal.

How long did it take Eddy Johnson?

A real concern IMO

I'm sure he can spare 5 mins teaching our players how to deliver a dead ball into right areas?

That's a start people think we should be beating teams like Blackburn without looking at what they are doing like not conceding goals in past couple of games? Any point away is good its home form thats going to be crucial and we are doing good so far ....

Question?

Who last scored a direct free kick for City in a league game?

Answer?

Don’t know? Whittingham probably.
