"I feel disappointed for the lads, for the fans that have travelled, I feel they showed a reaction of togetherness to go in 1-0 down and come out and do what we did for spells. It wasn't enough."

"Myself and the players are disappointed but we feel like there is something there. You could see it in spells, I asked them to train and play with intensity and we just fell short.

"But there is something there to spur us on and we've got another game on Saturday."

"I said pre-match that I want to manage this football club one day and that [ambition] continues."

Neil Warnock gives nightmare injury update on key Cardiff City summer signing

Neil Warnock has revealed that summer signing Marlon Pack will be sidelined for a couple of months after his knock against Reading on Sunday.

Pack had gained praise since his deadline-day arrival from Bristol City, with the manager throwing him straight into the starting line-up against Luton just two days later.

Warnock had waxed lyrical about the midfielder's leadership and steel in the middle of the park, which was evidenced by his early exit against Reading preceding the Bluebirds conceding three goals.

Pack hobbled off midway though the first half owing to a leg injury and Warnock's initial fears that the player would be sidelined for some time appear to have been confirmed.

"It looks bad to me, I think the physio said that it could be a couple of months, which will be a nightmare for us,” Warnock told BBC Sport.

"You do begin to think your luck is running out as a manager, I must admit, because with Pack on Sunday we looked so good - composed and in charge - and then one mistake when he's come off and we've collapsed.

"If I was a young manager I would probably have panicked a little bit after Sunday, but I don't think it's time to panic."

Indeed Warnock's charges turned out arguably their best performance of the season without the crocked midfielder on Wednesday night.

The Bluebirds made hard work of it, but Junior Hoilett's deflected shot in the 88th minute was enough to secure a much-needed 2-1 victory over Huddersfield at Cardiff City Stadium.

I think Huds has learned that script from Mr Warnock.

Hudson seemed out of his depth on the touchline last night, but it's a learning experience for him.
Good luck to him but he's got a long way to go and can't see him getting the top job at Huddersfield given the style of their last few appointments - even though the last one Jan Siewart 1 win in 19, was rubbish
