Marlon Pack: Cardiff City midfielder facing two months out with leg injury -

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock fears that midfielder Marlon Pack could be out for up to two months.

The 28-year-old was a key signing from Bristol City on transfer deadline day.

He was forced off during the first half of Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Reading with a leg injury and was absent from Wednesday's 2-1 win over Huddersfield.

"It looks bad to me, I think the physio said that it could be a couple of months, which will be a nightmare for us," Warnock told BBC Sport Wales.

"You do begin to think your luck is running out as a manager, I must admit, because with Pack on Sunday we looked so good - composed and in charge - and then one mistake when he's come off and we've collapsed.

"If I was a young manager I would probably have panicked a little bit after Sunday, but I don't think it's time to panic.

"We said a few words on Tuesday and then we trained today - the first time we've ever trained on a match day.

"But I thought it was important to have a long meeting yesterday and say a few truths, and to get a response like that [against Huddersfield] I'm really pleased."

This is very bad news.

Will be a huge miss.

Never injured at Bristol. Typical.

Etheridge is such a miss. No way he’d have let that goal in tonight.

Yikes that's worrying. Im still not convinced by Bacuna or Vaulks however Ralls is doing brilliantly this season imo.

Think the gaffer chose well with Tomlin and Ralls, Bacunna had a good game last night, one of his better ones, we’re going to miss Pack in midfield though.

Also explains why they looked tired last night if they trained on match day. I also think their pre-match warm up routine is too hard on them physically, they seem to exert a lot of energy during that warm up routine and it’s been the same routine for several years now, maybe it’s time to re-look at the warm up and see about a different way off doing it that doesn’t exert a lot of energy

Bennett and Whyte were to blame for letting Chalabah run around the edge of our box not Smithies.
He had a very good game and it was a very good shot, etheridge probably wouldnt have saved it either

Having tomlin in midfield frees up a lot of responsibility and space for the other midfielders. He needs to be man marked by one of the opposition. He’s a dangerous creative player

Would rather see Tomlin’s creativity in the side, anyway.

It's true they shouldn't have let him turn and shoot, but I said at the time Etheridge would have saved that and watching it later, I am even more sure Etheridge would have saved that easily.

Smithies is a good keeper, but Etheridge is a top championship keeper and a big loss!

There is a need for another body hopefully a new addition, add an injury to ralls and our midfield is non existent. I suspect he will rush bamba back and shoe horn him into midfield instead.

If it is possible to get anyone in, I think he would I doubt he will be out for two months, that's probably the worst-case scenario and people will be happy if he's back in a month or so, just managing the fans expectations.

Definitely gonna miss Pack. We've looked unconvincing so far this season in all our games but are definitely worse without him.
When Pack returns, I would love to see both Pack and Tomliin in the same team, imagine that, not 1 but 2 players who can pass a football in the same City team, we can only dream aye
