Some Cardiff City fans have been buying away tickets to Wigan, Reading & Blackburn and not even attending, just to improve their away attendance.

Cardiff City are now requesting from the home clubs the NO show ticket numbers.

Blackburn information supporters club;

Please note those buying tickets and not travelling to Blackburn to improve their away attendance record, the football club have been requesting the no show ticket numbers to update the records from the opposing clubs.

They wouldn't normally request this but with the increased activity on social media of supporters trying to sell tickets on particularly Blackburn tickets, in the interest of fairness and a level playing field they will carry out this exercise.

I think the only way they could stop it mate would be random spot checks at the turnstyles but even then most would probably slip through.

The thing that gets me though is you must have more money than sense to do it just to get you're membership up for Swansea and Bristol games. I couldn't think of anything worse than going down the Liberty unless we can make our own way, iv done the bubble twice but not again for me.

I don’t agree with this, I have been one of the people doing what’s said above. I work offshore so I can not make every game. But I’ll always buy a ticket to keep my numbers up. I do tend to give my tickets away if I can’t make it but if I buy a ticket I should still get the privileges of whether I attend or not. I may not even be home for the Swansea game but I still deserve the right to earn a chance at getting a ticket, and if I do get one and can’t make it the seat won’t be empty.

Those who bought them wont be credited with away game be in their interests to try get tickets themselves and that should be easier this season.... it is a way around what club are doing but nothing can be done is the numbers that large though to make difference? And if course we know it's for premier league but got to get there 1st...

What exactly does the club hope to achieve by this??

This sort of thing is rife at many of the big clubs it’s the only way fans can guarantee a ticket for one of the big away games

I have a Leeds supporting friend who has been doing this for year. In order to get a ticket for the big Yorkshire Derby’s and games against Villa etc he had to keep his away numbers up and bought a ticket for virtually every away game but only went to about 50% of them. He sold/game away the tickets he didn’t want

The club can’t force people to turn up just because them have bought a ticket

I often buy tickets for a group.. the tickets do not have names on them, so if you have 10 tickets and 2 blokes don't turn up on the day its random what tickets get binned { and what people get a black mark }.
im sure Vince does this too and almost always has spares from no shows.?

I jest with some on here over this, but Blackburn for example is never going to sellout anyway so what’s the point. Could understand with a game like reading where people were disappointed to not get tickets and probably will be the same at Derby, but realistically everyone who wants to go to Blackburn will be able to go

All this fuss is for swansea away it makes me laugh, people wasting money buying tickets and not showing up for a game that is shit, you get treated like shit, on buses for hours for no reason, ive been to the liberty a few times and ive got to say is the most unjoyable trip ever, give me brentford, blackburn etc away days rather then that rubbish down there, minute swansea game is out the way there be no fuss.

well I took the chance of going with no ticket and bought outside the ground last Sunday for £15 {seemed to be quite a few up for grabs } ,as I didn't realise Reading had cut the allocation until too late. think the same might happen for Derby and WBA. people who want to go cant get tickets because people desperate to go to the liberty have bought them..i did 14 aways last season ,seemingly counts for nothing.

Totally agree. Been to majority of away games over the last few years but have absolutely no desire to attend this one for the exact reasons you state
