Fulham’s Portuguese striker Rui Fonte has left the club on a free transfer and returned to Sporting Braga.

The 29-year old failed to secure a regular first-team slot during his two years at Craven Cottage, scoring just three goals in 27 appearances since joining in 2017 for a fee believed to be around £7m.

Fonte, who had a year left on his contract, spent last season on loan at French side Lille, playing alongside his brother and former Southampton defender Jose Fonte.

Whilst he leaves on a free transfer, it’s understood Fulham will receive a significant sell-on fee if Fonte is sold by Braga.

Fulham still have a strong squad -Don't think he will be missed from the way they are playing of late .
