Football has moved on but I found myself looking at those pics and memories of that day came flooding back. A rushed breakfast at 6am, City fans everywhere when we arrived (police said to us ‘we were expecting 500 but we’ve just been told it’s cliser to 4,000), the famous clock, the horror of seeing City fan’s car that had been turned over onto its roof. I was 20 I believe. Where have the years gone

Loved going on the football special train that day. Even though it got bricked on the way back.
There was a special buzz about the football trains .arrive at away station everyone on to the platform together huge roar would go up.

That turned over car was a hire car ...Billy the Bus left a city scarf on the back window ....Doh
Not sure if the Cwmbran lads came home on the train or not .
That was the way it was back then ....but god, have we got tall tales to tell, the youngsters wouldn’t believe half the stuff that went on .

A Pompey transit got overturned in the Nin car park the season after. Petrol was pissing out, and we had to stop someone torching it.. step too far.
Police dog had its leg broken by a brick before the game by the bridges..it was a bit mad, but I think I’m glad it’s not like that today..although the atmos is shite now
