Pelts

A good solid dependable defender who rarely lets you down. However, his forward play is awful and hence whoever plays in front of him has little chance to shine. He NEVER goes on the overlap and when we are attacking and he is in the final third of the pitch he ALWAYS plays the ball square. Surely he should practise crossing the ball it is so frustrating.

Quite happy for defenders to defend but I tend to agree with what you say.

Super Kev was a truly magnificent defender but once he ventured over the halfway line he could hardly make a pass to one of our own players!

Oddly I think how we played in the premier league helped him. He could just defend and has no need to try and get involved further forward.

I think in the championship you need a bit more going forward. I'm very surprised we still done have a new right back especially with Manga gone. Felt that was a position that needed steneghending the year we went up.

Peltier is solid enough though.

I agree with the OP. He made one terrific tackle yesterday which would have made any Premiership defender proud but then seconds later made an awful short pass which went straight to a Luton player.

The point above about how the way we played in the PL helped him is a very good one. Trouble is in the Championship we should be taking the game to sides like Luton and unfortunately Pelts is out of his depth as an attacking FB.
