Personally I like seeing Paterson in the CAM role just behind the striker. Reid has good feet, but Paterson works very hard, always puts 100% effort in, physically strong and puts defences under pressure a lot more than Reid ever did.
Reid never really suited our setup or style of play so more than happy to have the crazy Scot in the side.
As a side point, after we scored the winner did anyone see him in the keepers face having a laugh at him?!

Most people around today thought he was very poor and could not believe he was not substituted I agree with them today

You have to love him though, especially that pic above, reminds of the one that was doing the rounds where he jumped two footed into the back of the net after we scored a late goal before.

It was Hoilets cracker of a goal against Wolves last year.
Still cracks me up now that celebration.

Had his head on everything today, Unfortunately he lost a lot of posession too. Early days tho, and really enjoyed today.

Offered nothing but heading ball either nowhere or into touch? Need a midfielder who holds the ball up! Not sure what the love in is with NW and him....

Wasn't his best performance but willing to cut him a fair bit of slack in view of the fact that he hasn't played for months and the fact that he always gives a 100% committed performance.
He was Mr Angry today, charging round and shouting at everybody including the ref and giving Murphy a couple of bollockings as well.
Probably laughing at their keeper because a few moments earlier the big fanny had been rolling around in his penalty area trying to waste time.
Looking forward to seeing what celebration he'll come up with when he scores next!

Maybe a bit harsh to be too critical of Pato - he’s had a bad ankle injury and it’s his first competitive minutes for a good few months. Will take some time for him to get his quality back but sure he’ll have a massive part to play this season.

Today was his first proper first team game in god knows how long so he’s bound to be rusty. Much rather have someone with his passion wearing the shirt than someone like Bobby Reid

Thought he was very good. Constantly hassling their players winning balls in the air. He will end up having a good relationship with Glatzel with more game time. Only change for next game should be bringing Hoilett by far our best winger back into the starting xi.

A mate of mine is a Hammers fan, I sent him the video of the Holliet celebration last year and then today of this one, he thinks he’s great, says he’s like Julian Dicks with ever so slightly less self control lol
Did you see the pic last year in that mad floral (I think) suit ?

Reid any day, not sure why people think he didn't suit out style, he always looked decent as the number 10 and would have got goals.
He's gone now though and we are a bit short in that position really, Patterson does an effective job in that role, physical and covers a lot of ground.
If course Tomlin can do it but I've not seen anything to suggest Warnock has any plans to involve him. That may change if we got an injury but will Tomlin stay fit if he isn't involved.

Theres no doubt Warnocks tactics are effective and we are probs the tallest team in the league.
I'd like to see Tomlin given a chance there though. You need to be able to unlock defences as a 10 and Tomlin has a big advantage over Paterson in that area. He offers something different and can produce a goal/assist from anywhere.
Football is a funny old game. No doubt if Reid had stayed Warnock would have tried to push Tomiln out, now he could make a huge impact on our season.

I think he did that to the keeper for all the time wasting he did after their equaliser
