Apology to Warnock

Thought you had gone crazy over Reid, but having seen his interview it turns out he’s just a rat.

Faith restored :notworthy:

Same situations happen at clubs up and down the country,Zaha at palace,is a very similar situation, you don’t let your best player leave, certainly not to a rival, but warnock has said we don’t know the full story,if the new strikers start scoring,Reid will soon be forgotten,it’s not like he scored loads for us anyway

When the Reid story broke I must admit to being a bit concerned about players not being happy at Cardiff City and there being something wrong at the club.

However, when we signed Marlon Pack on deadline day I totally changed my opinion. The only thing going through my mind was, if it's that bad here for an ex-Bristol player how come another one jumped at the chance to come and there captain at that?

I may be simplifying this but Pack and in some ways Flint would have sought Reid's advice about the club and as he ended up leaving and they came in itsuggested to me that Reid and not the club may have been the problem.

Anyway probably well off the mark but it's what crossed my mind.

What crossed my mind was could of Artur told Fulham to come and get him, he knows him and he knows he would fit into Fulham’s style of play.

Zaha as far as we’re aware didn’t try to orchestrate a move behind the clubs back

Bobby Reid thinks he's a much better player than he actually is, he did naff all for us and I'm sure he will do better for an attack minded Fulham, but screw him, disrespectful today, prove yourself bobby but don't be a dick, hope you fail miserably, you are 27 and had one good season. As for Arter, on the decline, useless for us and you'll be in league one in two years. Hate Fulham, the new Leeds for me.

Rather him hand in a transfer request than go behind the clubs back and tell his agent to sort him a move to Fulham. Didn’t even have the balls to tell Warnock himself as far as I’m aware

Isn't that tapping up? Did Warnock decide to release instead of report?

That says it all for me. You commented, you claim you got it wrong (but aren't really sure) and then commented again by creating a new thread where apologised for not getting your facts right

But the real irony is that you still don't know the truth! :banghead:

Reid himself in his interview said he got his agent to tell cardiff he wanted to go to Fulham. Didn’t suggest at all he was man enough to go to Warnock himself

But you don't actually know, do you? You admitted that over two threads! ;)

There was other stuff going on in the background that made Bobby Reid decide he wanted out and given the way he was(n't) utilised last season, who could blame him?

What the club/manager/player say publicly won't always reflect the realities; just look at Frank Lampard's interview regarding 'no fall out' with David Luiz earlier. It's all smoke and mirrors! :thumbright:

In his own words he said that Fulham hadn’t made any indication of making a move until he got his agent to tell them he wanted to go there. Rat behaviour to me.

That's pretty naive there, fella!

Do you honestly think Fulham would take on another club's player without some prior engagement? It may well have been under the radar but it will have occurred; as it does with every club where the target is under contract ;)

I think 'tapping up' is when the club makes direct contact with the player. This is one reason why agents exist to get around the tapping up regulations. Instead of direct contact a club or player can make 'third party' contact to assess if a deal is possible.

Him and agents are rats , either some on here are calling Warnock a liar or need to question why an agent would go and see a manager with the " hypothetically, if someone comes in for Bobby " story weeks ago unless the player had had a word with hi or Fulham had gave a nudge nudge wink wink..

Its a pity this was so late in the day as the advantage is to fulham, and we ended up with the sh.t end of the stick , but what goes around comes around.

MONTYBLUE

The club will end up with £11.5m come the end of this season when we will (hopefully) need it to re-invest in the team for next season's assault on the Premier League

Whilst I am disappointed Reid has gone, in reality he played little part in our brief sojourn to the Premier League and was clearly seen as surplus to Neil Warnock's Cardiff City, despite what has been said

City appear to have got their money back with interest and likely covered is wages paid, too!

When considered, not too bad a piece of business and others will now have an opportunity to step up to the mark

Re: Apology to Warnock

SVEN

agree with you about the 11.5 mill and not disagreeing but my point was that they have a player playing on a free all season and they don't have to pay till the end of the season and we could not make use of that transfer fee until next season plus it was sprung on us quite late in the day which we where not prepared for perhaps, and did not have the time to look for what player we might have wanted but happy to get the guy from bristol to play gunners role.
