Very odd looking squad, totally unbalanced.
The next manager is going to have a lot of work to do to move out dead wood.

We have jazz, bacuna and Patterson back up at right back, agree with the rest of post, can only assume there is a recall on Cunningham and and we are stuck with madine and tomlin due to their high wages

We will never see Patterson at right back, unlikely Bacuna either unless it's a back 5.
More likely Nelson

Jazz is never fit, patterson can't defend, (warnocks words) as for bacuna..............

They have both played right back or right wing back in bacunas case, just making the point we have plenty of cover at right back, left back is a bigger problem

Yeah Patterson did but I don't see Warnock ever playing him there to be honest.

we have nelson who can play at right back, and connolly who can cover left back, flint, might even push to left back for bamba to slip in.. we even seen hoillet play wing back last season

What about Bacuna, Jazz eventually, Coxe and Nelson.how many more do want, pay someone else £10k a week to sit on the bench

If EVER, we play Conolly at left-back, alongside Flint, Morrisson, Peltier and Marlon Pack just in front, we will have the slowest defence in the division and possibly in the 40 years I've been following the City.

I still think he'll turn up something in the loan window.

The loan window also closed yesterday

This the obvious answer and spot on. So basically we have two first choice full backs and 4 back ups. How many do people think we need !!!???
My concern was CM but we managed to get Pack, an experienced 28 year old who will certainly not weaken us in replacing Gunnar and also more likely to play a whole season.
The success of this window will rest on whether Glatzel is an improvement on what we’ve had upfront over the last couple of seasons. If he is then we can compete.
Who plays behind the striker will now be interesting and probably Tomlin’s last chance ! If he fails then Paterson is in the box seat I’d guess.

I am pretty sure when I read the Oxford message board when we signed Nelson they said he had never played anything other than centre back for Oxford. He is not big for a centre back and is described as being very quick and good on the ball so he probably could play at full back if required but he has not done so before.

I remember Ralls doing a good job at Left-Back a few seasons ago.

Here's something novel - instead of trying to place square bloody pegs in round holes, how about we play centre backs where they should be (and 100% comfortable) and not shoehorned into the specialist RB or LB spot a la Manga / Connolly in seasons gone by.
It really isn't rocket science is it!?

Joe Ralls is very competent at left back. Saw him play there a few times, either under slade or solskjaer

We have the highly thought of Ciaron Brown as the back up left back with Cunningham returning in January if required

Was fortunate enough to watch city train at the Vale 2 seasons ago and Ciaron Brown stood out as a good prospect. He was marking Zahore during the training session and came out on top in most of the tussles. He should have improved further over the last 2 seasons and must be close to the first team.

Brown played the last 20 mins or so against Nice left back, did ok to be fair.
