All that nonsense earlier in the month about yanks pocketing money etc etc etc the same could be levelled at Tan looking at the transfer activity right? However the reality is promotion costs huge money, while you are in the PL then it’s fine, drop out and unless you get your finances in order quickly then you are worm food.
Tan has cut his cloth accordingly, just as Kaplan and Levien have for us. It’s nothing to be concerned about and should be applauded and most importantly, expected. It’s easy to go and do a Stoke and spend regardless ignoring the spiralling costs, but that’s not a sustainable model.
I think a few people here (and a fair few on our board to be fair) need to realise where we both are and what our predicament is.
I’m sure I’ll get the usual trigger happy auto responses of nonsense which will wash over my head like a silk American flag, but deep down you know I’m right about this.

Now I'm really worried. I agree with you on something. Think I'm going to need the phone number of a good shrink asap.

This is a subject that covers both clubs. We are both doing the same after both being relegated, offloading the big earners and recouping transfer fees while replacing with cheaper versions.
It has been called asset stripping for the last 12 months or so, which is barmy. The reality is, it’s simply keeping the house in order. Come January, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple more departures for both clubs and then it should start to settle.
For what it’s worth Tan, early years aside seems to be an excellent owner and clearly not working just to pacify the masses, good on him.
