OFFICIAL " CARDIFF CITY SIGN MIDFIELDER "

We’re delighted to announce the deadline-day arrival of Marlon Pack, subject to international clearance and completion of paperwork.

Joining the Bluebirds from Bristol City, Marlon has committed to a three-year deal, keeping him in the Welsh capital until the summer of 2022.

The 6’ 2” midfielder has made a total of 272 appearances for the Robins since joining from Cheltenham Town back in 2013.

Marlon's arrival in South Wales follows the signing of Isaac Vassell, ahead of Saturday's opening home fixture of the season against Luton Town.





MARLON PACK:

"It's been a quick turnaround but I'm delighted to be here," said Marlon.

"Obviously, as a former Bristol City player, I know it's a tough place to come - I never got a result here.

"But now, as a Cardiff City player I'll be looking to make sure it's a fortress and hopefully help the lads try to get promotion."

Neil Warnock added: "He’s the leader we’ve been looking for now since we knew Gunnars was leaving.

"We waited and waited and finally managed to get it over the line today, so we’re delighted with that really.

"I think everyone knew we missed that leadership and I think this squad has got great characters now in different areas."

Plays a defensive midfield roll and can pass the ball quite we'll although Warncok will soon knock that passing nonsense out of him. He is described as combative and always puts in a shift. Just Warnocks type, a sort of wurzel Joe Ralls. The most remarkable thing about him is he never seems to get injured he played 48 games last season.

Sort of solid unspectacular signing but in a position we need. He is six foot two looks like the manager is trying to build a team of giants.

Another one for the future who will be a bit part player. Was full of hope of challenging for promotion again this year but am feeling so underwhelmed and pissed off with our transfer business

Sweet Jesus, what’s going on. I wasn’t expecting any out of the world star players, but between this guy and Vassell it’s not exactly inspiring. We must be in some dire money difficulties to be brining these kind of signings in. Have to just give them our full support, and hope they do well.

Warnock likes leaders, Flint, Morrison,Bamba, Peltier, I believe Vaulks will be. I liked Zohore but he had no backbone the same applies to Ried and Murphy although they have talent

He's a bit like a better Gavin Rae, form what I've seen, should be OK, another six foot plus player, will obviously suit us better than weedy little Reid, who has done nothing for us.

We are certainly going to be a big strong team and a nightmare to mark from corners long throws and crosses.

Lets all wait and see how we do before writing players off shall we, Warnock knows what he is doing!

Whats the point in having leaders who have nobody to lead ?
Vaulks is just a squad player who will struggle to get in ahead of Ralls, Bacuna and Pack in our midfield. He will warm the bench most of the year

He’s certainly not a world beater but he’s got the experience we needed IMO.
