Listening to bamba just now on sky i think reid is off having spoken to warnock
Sol Bamba on Bobby Reid
Speaking on Sky Sports News, Bamba said: “It would be massive (to lose him). He is a very important player for us. He scores goals, at this level in particular, he scored 24 goals two seasons ago and we really like him a lot. The fans like him as well.
“It will be a big blow and it’s a bit of a surprise, but I’m sure he had a chat with the gaffer and he decided it’s probably best for both parties if he goes. We would be disappointed to lose him, for sure.
“We always want more (signings) and the fans always want more.
“But it’s one of those where the club is trying to bring in as many players as best they can and we are looking forward to the window closing so we can get down to business.”

This is turning into a joke, Reid will end up top goal scorer in the championship and we will end up mid table at best.
I think Warnock and the Board have lost all ambition for the club.

Just said he didn't want to lose him as he is one of the best players. Bamba said I'm sure the gaffer has had a chat to Bobby. Bamba didn't sound confident to be fair saying he wanted the window to be closed asap
Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:42 am
Should've gone back in for Jarrod Bowen if this is actually the case.

Hearing what sol bamba has just said on sky sports news there are clear indications something has happened behind the scenes.
Sol bamba confirms he will be a miss but he must’ve had a chat and it be best for both parties!

I don't think bamba gave anything away if I'm honest. Nothing more than what's been said on sky previously.

Just said it would be a shame if he did go, it was as if he knew nothing at all and was just reacting to the news like we would.
Sky have said Fulham are interested also.
Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:41 pm
Most of us would not like to see Reid go but I am not sure if it would be a massive loss for us because Warnock does not know how to play him. He is using him in a sort of behind the main striker roll for which he is entirely unsuited. He spends most matches watching the ball sail over his head.Joining us has seen his career go backwards and he would probably be better off joking a club with a manager who knows how to use him. He can be replaced by a French bloke no one has heard of or someone who can run fast.

SSN Fulham is the most likely destination. I'll take 20m for him from them!

Possibly get a CM in return which wouldn’t be so bad.

I agree - if we get a top CM in then it does soften the blow.
Always thought Bobby Reid was a strange buy for Warnock....

Just putting it out there everyone assuming that City are getting rid of Reid. Is it possible that he wants out and is pushing for a move?

How dare you suggest that!!
It’s far better to believe that the club is in turmoil and NW has lost the plot. Oh and Tan is too tight with his money. Ffs.
On a serious note, I agree mate.

I dont think it matters
Its about strengthening our first team.
Looks like we arent moving forwards (pardon the pun!)
Whilst I wont be grieving for Bobby, he is one of our better players, who could do something, we aint got many
Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:53 pm
He wants the move , obviously not happy where he plays with us.
If we can have what we payed for him great.
Pity BDR didn't ask for a transfer at the end of last season not on deadline day .

I reckon Bobby Reid leaving will depend on this
Sky Sports
West Brom and Bristol City are battling it out to land Southampton striker Charlie Austin
Cardiff's Bobby Reid is interesting Fulham and Bristol City

Our whole transfer strategy in the premier league was to buy players who would help us if we were relegated, and currently we are looking to get rid of Smithies, Cunninghsm and Reid. On that basis the last 2 years have been an absolute waste of time, as whatever squad we built to fill a long term strategy we have decimated in one window. Absolutely ridiculous.
Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:57 pm
Let's be fair he is the guy with more flare and talent than anyone. And we want him out? Absolutely ridiculous decision
Thu Aug 08, 2019 1:07 pm
If City wanted to balance the books it's about time we actually bought some decent players.

Spot on. It’s crazy.
I’m not sure we even have a strategy.

I think the strategy has now gone out of the window, but why sell it to the fans in the first place if you arent willing to stick to it?
I can understand Bruno, smithies, Cunningham and Zohore leaving. I'm fine with the replacements we have brought in for those players. But the message put out was that we will use the premier league status to attract top championship players that we can use to come straight back up. There is no one that Cardiff could buy that would replace Reid like for like in terms of quality at a championship level.

AUSTIN PASSES MEDICAL
Sky sources: Charlie Austin has passed his medical medical and agrees a deal to join West Brom from Southampton instead of Bristol City.
The fee is believed to be around £4m; a two-year deal with an optional additional year.

I don’t really see a clear strategy. Tomlin and Reid are prefect examples where we’ve signed talents players for good money but don't fit Warnock’s style. Madine is another as he’s simply to immobile to be effective the way we play.
I can also understand the departures you mention. They make sense. As you say the plan put out there was that we are aiming to bounce straight back to the Prem. That’s great for us fans to heat but the signings we’ve made don’t reflect that ambition which is very frustrating. Basically they are all gambles. Selling Reid so suddenly gives the impression there has been a major rethink after one game. I doubt that’s the case so why not do it sooner? As someone mentioned above, it’s probably his agent facilitating this. I agree we’re not likely to replace him in terms of quality. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Why so shocked on Reid, he's been an expensive mistake as was Madine, Murphy, Cunningham and Smithies, Tomlin and all the other million pound plus signings. We will sign a few players today, unheard of french players, some may come good. The frustration is general not with Reid because he just hasnt been anywhere near a 10 million pound player. Has he?
