why all the tears over Bobby Reid

He had one good season and can be replaced. 7 mill would be a good deal

don’t count on it we haven’t replaced anybody so far.

He happens to be a lot people’s favourite player. He obviously isn’t yours, so you wouldn’t understand.

Selling someone at a £3mill loss after one season is not a good deal. Selling someone who scored 19 goals last time he was in the championship and potentially replacing him with someone who has recently come back from a major injury and scored 1 goal in 14 is not Improving the team.

I’ve tried to stay positive this transfer window but if this happens it is shocking business by the club. Replacing a quality championship player with someone who has barely played at this level.

I think it’s more about to do with who he’s being replaced by. It just doesn’t make sense, it’s like we are cashing in to balance the books, and bringing in a cheaper option, it’s hardly inspiring.

But balance the books we must,we are not rich from one season in the prem, remember where we have come from :?: :old: :bluebird:

He looked the only player of our current crop that didn't look out of place in the Prem alongside Etheridge.
I'd rather see Warnock gone first.

Hasn't impressed me in many games. Didn't look interested at Wigan

He wasn't interested at all at Wigan and anybody who was there would have seen how ineffective he was, it was like playing with 10 men.

Posters go on about how great a player he is but I haven't seen him play well for us consistently, one or two flashes in games but quite frankly he's a luxury we cannot afford. When people go on about "19 goals in his last Championship season".....well that wasn't playing for US in OUR system so no gaurantee of him doing it again.

Which begs the question why he was ever bought in the first place? Did Warnock genuinely believe that Reid would fit into his system as if he did that is a major error in our manager's judgment (and an expensive one at £10m).

The same goes for Tomlin - the "number one" target from the previous season who again, on the face of it, was completely unsuited for our system.

As for saying he was ineffective at Wigan he created Bogle's goal with the one and only decent cross into the box all afternoon.

If you want to talk about not looking interested at Wigan then you could also have mentioned NML, Murphy and Madine and if you wanted to talk about ineffective at Wigan you could have just mentioned the rest of the team, with the possible exception of Etheridge before he went off and Bogle when he came on.

Spot on David's, it seems NW buys players then for some reason either play them out of position or figures they don't fit into his plans.

Blah Blah Blah yes we got promoted but we had just as much good luck going up as we had had luck coming down.

The guy couldn't have done anymore with the limited time he has had.

He has ruined the championship previously, now is his time.

Most sensible thing I’ve read about the Reid situation - makes no sense on both parts to sell him and replace with Vassell. Let’s hope he doesn’t leave. As for those saying he didn’t look interested at Wigan - it was a game where the ball spent most of the time in the air - being 5 foot 6 in that kind of game would be a nightmare. He still made good runs and clever passes and if we kept the ball on the deck more he would have had a much bigger influence. Not necessarily Warnock’s style but at home we will have the ball on the deck much more.

The question then has to be asked why was he bought to not be used in the Premier league despite doing well. Everyone assumed it was because he could be a key performer in the championship.

Reid wouldnt be that great of loss ,he hasnt worked out ,missed some sitters and doesnt fit in with the way we play hes too lightweight, the new german lad looks a player ,we get it to our wingers alot and put crosses in geltez will do well for us

Wez, I agree we havn't seen the best of reid but i remember watching him the season we got promoted tearing apart man utd and also giving man city a torrid time in the league cup, so why is it not working for him with us???? Also the big german lad could well do well for us but what happens if he gets injured, we have no decent back up at the moment.

I think we don't play the best style to get the best out of him , i just dont think reid fits in

We only need £4 million back from Bristol as that's all we have paid them to date.
Reid is desperate to get back to the club he loves so it wouldn't surprise me :bluebird:

He's not even going. So don't worry
He's just on a list of enquires bristol city have made. Which now they have moved onto Charlie Austin.
They had a deal agreed for the Arsenal youngster, but he didn't turn up and ended up at leeds. Looks like he struggles with directions.

He thought Bristol was just north of Huddersfield

Warnock doesnt have the managing style to put Reid in his best position.

Chef dont wash the dishes and the dishwasher dont cook the food.

If Bobby Reid leaves then he learly doesn't want to be here. Would he be a loss, yes of course. However we don't need folk hanging around that don't want to be here(we have enough of them) and that is why in my opinion we should cash in if we have the chance to do so.

Re: why all the tears over Bobby Reid

He had one good season at Bristol and that's it. Obviously Warnock seem him up close in training for the last year and not happy with him. In Warnock I trust, won't be the first or last manager to make a few mistakes in transfer market. I just hope Tomlin can play a tune or to now.

Maybe because he is a class act that had to be forced into playing out of position due to warnocks lack of creative wishes. It's a joke he is the most talented guy in our squad

Who says he isn't happy to stay here? Big assumption.
