Three new players would be great

Wed Aug 07, 2019 1:17 pm

I am sitting here on the phone hoping for news and refreshing the page every five minutes hoping for new signings... What is annoying is seeing our fans slagging off potential players before they even kick a ball for us.
We are just fans but think we are experts every transfer window ha ha

The club will have drawn up a very long list of players and positions to fill and very rarely they get their first choice in.. And end up going down the list... Often they will make mistakes and get the wrong man and its easy to criticise mistakes but we can be sure that money is tight and they will definitely want to make the right decisions.

We might be pissed off or upset when things don't pan out but I imagine the ones doing the deals will have a worse feeling especially as they are entrusted with buying and selling.

I am sure they want the best for the club and hopefully will get us three players by 5 pm tomorrow but I am also sure whatever they do it will not please everyone..

Snap , what is laughable is the same people that say that we will go up this year a couple if weeks ago after one game are turning on the club its early days , we will be up the top end in 9 months time

Nah we are entitled to be angry and pissed off at this stage because we all thought we were going to improve this season and have a chance for automatic promotion.

What’s actually happend is we’ve lost three key players from the promotion season and not replaced them.

Gunnarsson Manga and Zohore were key players. The last game we played they were replaced by Bacuna Flint and Madine. That is definitely not an improvement on the three we’ve gone backwards.

We also had a keeper on the bench that was playing in league two last season and he came on and gave a league two performance.

We should get behind the players but let’s not be blinded fan boys and think we’ve improved we haven’t. Nor should we try and pretend otherwise.

We’ve got just over a day to pull three rabbits out of the hat.

It's ridiculous really when you think about it . All these rumours , medical no medical , this player that player.
Unfortunately we have to wait , I'm sure the transfer committee including NW know what we need.
But unless they want to come they won't come. Money talks but let's not ruin the stability of the club or the team spirit on someone on massive wages and an ego to match.
Whoever we buy ,Whoever we sell, what we have on Friday morning is who we will go with.
I for one will be giving the team my 100% backing and support.

Re: Three new players would be great

Wed Aug 07, 2019 1:44 pm

Think you got it wrong guys .No club gets promotion in August.
You can’t win them all and I would rather learn by our mistakes now and have time to rectify them while we got time .
Like in my other posts here’s hoping to a successful transfer window and that whoever we sign gives 100% to the shirt that’s all we ever asked for .

But some real quality would be great .

You seem quick to assess Day and Flint... Exactly my point... Gunnerson definitely needs replacing though... ZORORE was lazy and hardly great but we have signed a replacement... Hope he gets a few quick goals or he will no doubt be crucified lol

As for being key players gunners missed lots of games Nanga was often played at right back and not CH just so he could get a game and Zorore had plenty of chances to prove he was worth keeping and messed it up

Let's see where we are at 5 pm tomorrow and hope that the squad is stronger but whoever we end up with... Can we give them a chance

I don’t need to watch day and flint play a few months in a Cardiff City shirt to see they aren’t as good as Manga and Murphy.

That’s like saying we can’t say Messi is better the Hoilett because he hasn’t played for Barcelona.

We’ve lost our best players in every outfield position. An they haven’t been replaced they need replacing.

We have a worse team now then we did when we played Burton in the opening game of two seasons ago.

Re: Three new players would be great

Dear oh dear, we have some of the worst fans in the country when it comes to not giving a chance to new players. We’ve played 1 league game and some of you think you’re experts on the players we’ve signed. Give them a chance ffs. No wonder players don’t want to come here after listening to some of you lot. Probably the same suspects will be saying in a few months that we are going to win the league. I remember that happening 2 years ago when we came runners up with a supposedly ‘shit team’.
Get behind Cardiff City, afterall they are the team you profess to support.

That's your opinion not mine and I will give them a chance before criticism.. I have seen Day play plenty of times and he is a solid keeper who will improve... Flint is a proven player at this level and Zorore has been replaced.. The only one I agree on is Gunnerson and he is going to be hard act to follow... But will not be writing my team off just yet

Out of the three above gunnarsson was the only key player. We've replaced Zohore aswell. If we sign Vassell we've replaced him with two players.

I certainly don't agree with slagging off new players before they have kicked a ball for us, but i can understand some of the fans frustration. Almost 3 months ago, after we lost against palace we knew we were losing 3 of our midfield for this season, with 24 hours to the transfer window closing we have only brought 1 midfielder in and warnock didn"t even start him on saturday, why have we left it so late again???. Now let's see what happens in the next 24 hours, and although we have to give all our signings a chance so far we have signed one player from division 2, two players from division 1, one player from a relegated championship team, a striker from the german 2nd tier (unknown could go either way) and possibly a striker (vassell) who has hardly kicked a ball in 2 years due to a serious injury.

Yes :D on paper I can see why people are moaning... I am aswell in some ways I would love to see a few known guaranteed players sign up... But am also aware of Bolton and Bury and how that easily could be us..

That's another thing Corky, as of now we have spent £2 million in this window, (even wigan have spent £12 mill) this time last year we spent £26 mill for the start of the premier league,(the lack of spending cast us relegation) now i"m glad we are not being reckless with the cheque book but surely we should be some of the £100 mill we made last season, and tht's not including the parachete payments.???

Vaulks could be as good as gunnarsson if he settles in.

It's not helped as NW said after relegation for the club to think big.
When he stayed on I'm sure plenty were expecting significant and proven acquisitions.

Tan is in Cardiff so let's hope he is there to make immediate decisions on the finances.

I knew our fans could turn on the team this season if things hadn't gone according to plan but I didn't expect it to happen so soon :o

We have played one game (away from home) and still have 24 hours to go in the transfer window and some posters have already written the season off. As fans of this club you should hang your heads in shame! I will be holding my judgment on players until at least 10 games in if not until Christmas.

People need to remember how tough this division is! Clubs much bigger than us have tried and failed to spend their way out of this division. When people talk about the 100m from the PL do they not realise that transfers/player salaries are not the only out going the club has!

Yes there are certain areas that haven't been addressed and certain areas that could cause us problems but some fans need to take a step back and have a bit of perspective. We're little old Cardiff not a giant of the footballing world that can throw money at players.

Look mate your painting yourself into a corner here.I've been reading and posting on this forum over 9yrs and believe me this forum is littered with people criticizing players who they've "never heard of" before they've signed that have gone on to do great things in a city shirt Aaron Gunnerson being just one.

I remember a lot of people kicking off when we signed Ross McCormack, a striker in a pub league with a poor record and he turned out OK.

I can't say Vassell excites me but I'll give him a chance. I agree with others when they say the signings have been underwhelming. But let's see.

Agree , it's one game in and in meltdown, I'd love us to be spending millions on players but club is in debt and club are being sensible in signing players we can afford and trying to balance the books. (Don't want us to become the next Bolton or bury)

The fact he came for a small development fee wasn't the issue it was we needed a striker to score goals, very similar to now.

I was happy to give Madine a chance but that was a false dawn as he is useless. Wards not much better. At least Bogle knows how to score.

I’ve no confidence in this Vassell though.

Glatzel has to be the saviour especially if Reid’s going.

I’m looking forward to a new manager after Warnock retires; he’s been brilliant for us but everyone has a shelf life.
