Cardiff end interest

Tue Aug 06, 2019 2:28 pm

Cardiff City have ended their interest in Le Havre striker Alimami Gory.

The Bluebirds are looking to get a new forward in before Thursday's transfer deadline to boost their strike force, after adding German frontman Robert Glatzel in a £5.5m deal.

Cardiff City remain keen on bringing in another attacking option before the close of the summer transfer window.

Reports in France yesterday claimed Ligue 2 side Le Havre were mulling over a bid from the Bluebirds for forward Alimami Gory.

There could well further developments on that one over the course of today.

Neil Warnock has previously indicated he would be open to exploring the loan market, and Cardiff have subsequently been linked with Arsenal wonderkid Eddie Nketiah.

Sources at the club have played that link down, so it remains to be seen what happens next.

Warnock has also mentioned that there could be departures before the close of the window, and there could well be movement on that front soon.

Everyone got a little excited last week over a mystery striker target.

Tall, pacey and available for £2m - it’s easy to see why.

Alamami Gory was that mystery target and, if you haven’t seen the previous post, it’s not happening.
