Get ready for it

Tue Aug 06, 2019 11:01 am

We tried , but couldn’t get deals over the line ....we will have to go with what we got , we have a very good squad .

Please Mr Warnock prove me wrong enough of these cheaper options /future potential .
Go get a land mark signing please we have the money .

Yep, it is beginning to feel like that again. Hope we are both wrong.

Happens every window he’s been here unfortunately and I can’t help but feel it will happen again.

Hope you're wrong but I can see it happening.

It will be the 'world is against us' mentality again :old:

We'll stay optimistic for Thursday though and hopefully Warnock can get some quality in on loan.

Our new striker is a landmark signing.

Where have you been the last couple of weeks did u miss it?

It’s looking like it once again!

The strikers we have?

Madine - looks like he will never score.
Ward - hasn’t really had the chance and injury prone.
Bogle - discarded but now best striker we have.
Glatzel - not tested, could be great, could be out of his depth. :bluescarf: :occasion5:

I really cannot understand why NW had meetings with the top 3 about being backed in the window etc. We’ve certainly filled out the squad and made money on players going out. However imo I would now keep Cunningham and Madine as we appear to be missing out on any other players before the window shuts.

Any loans will be younger PL squad ones and won’t be anywhere near what we need.

We’ve left it to late in this window and January’s window you won’t pick up anyone good without paying stupid money. The games between now and the International break will define our season. :bluescarf:

If only signing players was like shopping at Pets At Home, or Tesco's, where everything is available immediately off the shelf or in their cage, you know the price you have to pay, you can take them straight home, you don't have to consider their family circumstances, their own personal needs, their wage demands and umpteen other considerations the club have to take into account when trying to bring in potential signings.

Please feel free to add your own complications of signing players underneath:-

That’s the same for all clubs ...certainly it’s not easy , but we are just down from the premiership tipped by a few for top two .
So why wouldn’t you want to sign for us ?

For umpteen reasons, like Arter signing for his Brother In Law's team for example, or because of wage demands.

I think we lost on Saturday cos some of our own players believed our own hype and after losing the loan players we had last season, I certainly wouldn't have us down as favourites for top 2, although I'd be absolutely delighted if that happened.

The ones we still have not replaced although we've had all summer to do so.

I refer you to the statement I made above:-

Every club has the same considerations..

They also have different budgets and different problems. Like it's no good having money to spend if somebody wants to stay where they are, or would just rather go somewhere else. There are umpteen other clubs trying to spend money on the right player and we're not the only club vying for whoever the right player(s) are.

Like I said, you can't just pick something off a shelf with a price tag and take it to the check out!
