With more composure we could have dominated. We made good inroads in to their defence when we went wide. I actually thought madine did well too in the first half doing all asked of him bar scoring. I thought we leaked like a sieve through the middle though which is where we needed someone to stamp their authority

I never pay much attention to stats Alan. We often end up with less possession than other teams and come away with three points. The only stat that really counts is the score. We will lose more games this season when we are the better team, but hopefully we will also get games where we are outplayed and still end up winning.

Have put that out elsewhere with luck we could have been out of sight! Even their manager says they were lucky to get 3pnts? Madine suffered like every other striker we've had under NW, what puzzles me is yes we need defensive midfielder but arta hasn't got the calming influence we need do why fans were clambering for NW to sighn him not sure.

Very true Steve but whats interesting is theses stats are far better in every department than we've ever achieved away from home under NW? So was the performance as bad as being suggested?

I can't comment Alan, I didn't see the game myself, other than the highlights that have been shown. From what I have been told, it was a decent enough performance spoilt by some basic defensive errors. As I said on another post, we often see some strange results in the first week or two of a season. Way too early to panic. Lets see where we are after 12 games. I would hope we are at least top 8 or so, and in touch with the promotion chasing sides. A long way to go yet. :bluescarf:

Steve i
Was at game and tbh we should have won it if you look at their managers view it say same basically? And yes same mistake being made as previous 2 seasons cost us game said need 10 games for better judgement as it will take teams time to adjust to competitive football again? Friendly games are not the same and dont have same intensity.

Don't let the facts get in the way P.A that's the best possession figures for a while, but it won't stop the doomsayers agendas  :old: :bluebird:

That's my point fans whinging about result ect but looking at these stats show why their boss said was surprised they won? If we had those stats at home never mind away fans would be ecstatic

Forget the stat they mean nothing. Anyone who was there will know

1 - We didn't play particularly badly and the game could have gone either way
2 - Our midfield was poor and that they exposed our central defenders
3 - That side is not good enough to mount a serious challenge.

It wasn't the result that was a concern or even the performance. The most important stat. was the fact that we have lost five key players from last season and of the starting line up on Saturday only one of these was replaced by a new signing (though presumably it would have been two if suspension hadn't ruled out the German lad)

I was there! and in this case does matter because can you say last time away from home we've had such positive stats hard to find home stats as good as well.....

We lost because we gave away a couple of sloppy goals. Remember we also gave a penalty as well.
