Why would his confidence be shot?

Don't think his confidence is shot I just think he's a very inconsistent player to the extreme. You can usually tell in the first 10 mins if he's going to rip the opposition full back to shreds or he's gonna be piss poor.

Why would his confidence be shot? The last competitive game he played he had a decent game against Manchester United!

As for Whyte it's amazing how we see things differently - I thought he looked completely overawed and out of his depth at this level but in fairness to him it was not an easy situation to come in to so I certainly wouldn't write him off but to me it was not an encouraging debut.

Hoilett should start v Luton. Murphy is just one of those players that only turns up every now and again shouldn’t be starting games unless he has earned it by playing well in his last performances. I think Hoilett is much better player than him anyway TBF.

He got in some great positions behind the defence but on at least three occasions but didn't have the composure to finish.

Overrated and vastly overpaid for him. Hope Whyte takes his place Saturday.

My opinion when Whyte came on he looked very nervous and a bit ohh f**k head gone then when he got that good cross in he calmed down and started to grow into the game. What I saw was I think this kid is going to grow in confidence and when he does you watch him fly.

Murphy moves very well without the ball. Put the ball at his feet and there's a turn in his eye.

I agree above about whyte. There was one sign of class when he turned the defender on the edge of the box and passed it to Reid. Which was promising to see
