“Squad fillers not starters”

That is where Warnock has gone wrong this window

We needed players good enough to go straight into the first 11

We got one in Flint and that's only because Bamba is injured.
Hopefully the new striker will be good enough next week.

I'm sure I will get ripped apart again for saying the truth but someone has to.

Our first 11 is not good enough because of the midfield and our defence is too slow.

If we dont sign a quality midfielder possibly two and a right back with pace we are going to struggle this season.

Only one of our new signings started today , that's not a good sign going forward

Agree with you mate. For me ralls and bacuna who started today should have been squad players. Aint got a clue about vaulks to be honest never seen him play. Alright ralls can do a job but only if he has a creative player like tomlin and a dominant midfielder alongside him.

Look at west broms midfield today livermore and sawyers thats hell of an upgrade to ralls and bacuna, thats what we are competing against!

Totally agree. From the day we got relegated I felt we needed to sign three or four players who would start in the first 11 not 6 or 7 squad players.

Yesterday the only new player who started was Flint and he wouldn't even have been signed if Manga hadn't gone. And yet we have lost 3 first choice midfield players and replaced them with one. who yesterday couldn't make the first 11 and was an unused sub.

Got to agree with this

Agree with most things that have been said

We have a big strong squad but everyone can see we need to bring in at least 2 first team starters

A top quality central midfielder is a must and this is were we must splash the cash if we are serious about promotion...Ralls is a good player at this level and will thrive playing alongside a Joe Allen type player

A proven goal scorer and an attacking full back probably loan players will give us both a top quality starting 11 and a strong squad

Hoping Nelson can play CB alongside either Morro or Flint to give us some pace..

It's the same old positions.

I'm praying this striker comes good otherwise as it stands I think we are quite a bit off.

We lost 3 of our best midfielders in the summer and so far Warnock has brought in one midfield that is anywhere near as good as the ones we lost. I hope he finds at least 2 loans that can come straight into the starting 11.

The midfield has to give the back 4 more protection as they just let Wigan walk straight through them yesterday.

Completely agree with a lot of what has been said.

The Club knew come the end of last season we would only have one central midfielder on the books (not counting Damour as he’s not in NWs plans). I find it very very strange that we didn’t sign at least one quality midfielder permanently whilst we were in the Premiership. We would have been a far more attractive prospect then than we are now.

NW can’t possibly think Ralls and Bacuna are a top 6 midfield. That’s weaker than the promotion season which says a lot. As mentioned above, Ralls is decent at this level but only in a three man midfield, with two holding. He and Vaulks seem quite similar from what I’ve seen (could be wrong). I would actually like to see Ralls play higher up the pitch as he can score from distance. I was shocked Bacuna started ahead of Vaulks. In my view he is a utility player at best. We need 2 more midfielders that are certain starters.

Completely agree, we should be buying starters not back up players. Our back up players would then be present players and our best under 23’s. You only improve as a team by buying better players than you have already?

Many sucking Ralls off after his stunner against Nantes. Now it’s back to bashing him but I thought he was our best player yesterday. But I agree mostly about Bacuna he didn’t do much wrong but he isn’t creative enough. I do think Warnock should chuck Tomlin in as he is a creative midfielder.
But unfortunately many’s concern and my own that Morrison and Flint just wont work together. Both good in the air Flint not good with his feet Morrison only slightly better, and they both are far to slow.
For me it’s either one or the other alongside Curtis Nelson or Bamba when he is back. I thought the Ref yesterday was very poor again with decisions baffling me.
Madine can have a place but the way we are set out he is to slow and not creative enough. Was highly impressed with Bogle when he came on strong fast and at the moment he knows where the net is.
The two players that really under performed yesterday was Peltier who was pulled apart time and time again. Wigan knew this and battered us down that side and the other was Murphy who just doesn’t try to beat his man anymore just falls over trying to win a free kick. But he didn’t do much yesterday, and to be honest he hasn’t impressed since coming from Norwich. Whyte for me looked sharper and deserves a chance.
And Day I did feel for him he wasn’t expecting to go on no in a million years but on he went and conceding those three goals wasn’t all down to him. He couldn’t do anything with 1 & 3 but the second maybe Etheridge might have got it.
But come Saturday if he is playing this time he will be ready mentally as well and it’s up to us to get behind him, you can’t judge the man on 40 minutes.
