Midfield

Today told us one thing we all know and have for ages we need as a minimum two quality midfield players.
To loose Gunarson Arter and Victor from last season and not signed anybody to replace them who played today is nit good enough.
We need quality in there and not No’s especially a leader
On a positive note the window is still open and we know what needs to be done.

Yep said in another thread ralls and bacuna not good enough. Sides will stroll through those two as if they are not there, in joe ralls’ case he usually isn’t. As said, great energy but lacks pace and defensively not good enough. He’s getting better though and is more suited to a 3 man central midfield. If it’s just 2 it’s not for him - it doesn’t suit him.

Murphy was poor today as well. I wonder what changes we will see for Luton, I think there will be some. Glatzel obviously, maybe Vaulks for bacuna and possibly hoilett or white for Murphy??

Fingers crossed for some new signings and hopefully offloading the dead wood.

I got ripped apart this week for saying we need first 11 starters not just squad fillers. Our business this window has been poor.

We desperately needed 2 midfielders to start games not just people to fill a squad number, that showed today

Gerrard and Lampard would struggle in this set up and personnel.

Two slow centre halfs means we'll need to drop a few metres leaving a hell of a lot of space for the two CM's to cover.
Two wingers who are almost exclusively attack minded
And the biggest dilemma....Bobby Reid. He is a converted winger not an attacking midfielder (like Rambo or Camarasa but at championship level) so in essence we are playing 1950's 4-2-4.

I know it sounds obvious but we really need to score 3 every game


Warnock has a few days, but he needs to make a few big calls. We need 2 more CM's and lose Tomlin (Obvious) but also Reid as I don't see how long term he fits in.
