BACUNA is poison

Sat Aug 03, 2019 4:29 pm

To this team...

I just analysed all the goals conceded in todays game and bacuna was at fault for 2 of the goals. Ball watching and no urgency or commitment in closing down/tackling/blocking the ball and player. Every time i watched him last season he was exactly the same. Defensively he is shocking and needs to get axed from this team ASAP he is poison to this side in the long run imo. Dominant midfielder needed asap if we are going to get promoted.

Very odd you pick him out. Yet Morrison was directly at fault for 2 and gave a pen away

Re: BACUNA is poison

Disagree. Would’ve been far better without Reid in the team and playing in a proper 3. Him and Ralls were completely overrun

Bit of an over reaction .Bacuna and Ralls were completely outnumbered in midfield today. You can't close anyone down if your covering 2 men.We should have put an extra m/f on at half time when we were 1-0 up.That way we could have not only numbered up but given more cover to our back four which were left too exposed on times.

The 2 central midfielders are both not up to it, ralls has great energy but lacks pace and defensively is crap. Bacuna is just crap and teams will work out if they run through the middle they will have a field day. Sadly as ralls will run all day he seems to be a favourite. But, window closes Thursday and I am still very hopeful of some midfield movement.

Good points on having a good midfield 3 actually, a quality midfielder signed will give us more options but bacuna shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting line up

Have to disagree mate, had it been gunnar for example or even vaulks possibly in bacunas shoes today, they would have had urgency about them and put their body on the line and stopped 2 of them goals happening. Bacuna just ball watches and stands there with concrete in his boots

Let's get some perspective on this,we lost by the odd goal,to a team who amassed about 56pts in total last season,41 of them points were earned at home, anyone who believes we should be rolling over teams, need to think again, this is the championship for God's sake,we are one game in,and are 3pts from the top ;) and 135 pts left to play for, according to some the seasons over already  stop slagging off our player's and get behind them, that's our responsibility, as fans no :?: I was more frustrated that bogle didn't start instead of madine, but didn't feel the need to slag him off (madine) bogle is the in form striker at present, and will likely be replaced by Glatzel next week,in my eyes,a little unfair on bogle, who is starting to look like the striker he can be,but it's warnocks job to pick the team, that's what he gets paid for, whether that works is another matter, but one game in is not the time for slagging the team off, some fans we have :banghead: :old: :bluebird:

No disrespect to LB, but he was a poor signing by NW last January,,, signed from a struggling Reading team, when we were still in with a shout in the Premier Lg.... very puzzling.

Whats more puzzling is; what are his strengths,,? & where does he "slot in", to a Neil Warnock team?

My personal oppioion of course, but it begs the question that surely there must be a way back for Lee Tomlin in midfield now,,,, certainly after yesterdays midfield performances???

Poison ???? Need to tone it down a bit mate.

I don't think he is that great either and bit of a panic buy as Gunnar was on his last legs and we needed a body , but within the pay structure. He is a squad player, someone you bring on with 15 mins to go to get around the pitch if we need a bit more energy and physicality.

We also need to accept that nobody is going to take him off our hands, so he is one of ours.

Ok he let the ball get to their players then what? He was not the player next to windass for 2nd or the player for the 3rd? So your analysis concludes they scored because he didn't win the ball 40/50yds away from where their players scored 2nd & 3rd goals? Ok say he had bad game but blaming him for Morrisons mistake 2nd goal or city player not closing down for 3rd goal is making a scapegoat of him for others mistakes.

The guys a winger, converted right back, and now Central midfield. Calm your head a bit mate. Let’s stick Josh Murphy there an all and see you slate him the same.

He’s only playing there because he came on against Southampton last season for Gunnarsson, and his calmness on the ball was something we were missing. Now he’s been thrown in there again expecting to do the job.

I sometimes wonder if people decide what performance a player put in based on whether they like him or not before kick off.

Bacuna was tracking back, winning balls. He was very composed on the ball. He seemed the least under pressure when he was pressed. He made the first goal happen by beating a man and sending an awkward shot at marshall.

Bacuna and Madine get the most stick because people sont want to like them. The truth is, none of them had a bad game.

I tend to agree that Bacuna doesn't fit, im not really sure of his strengths but I don't see how that opens any doors for Tomlin. You know how we play so Tomlin obviously wouldn't fit into either of the roles Bacuna or Ralls played. Only one he would replaces is Reid which I think would be a backwards step.

Actually it was said that he signed a contract for 4.5 yrs until June 2023.
