With the money now being spent on players in the PL league should the transfer money paid have to pay a % just like vat and be divided between the bottom two divisions .

Could have a levy on sales managed by premier league for distribution to lower league teams? perhaps this is what he means rather than a tax?

at the moment i see a case for the premier league clubs helping out..
long term its down to clubs to cut their cloth accordingly...

I don't see why the premier league should sponsor under performing competition. Very few players as a percentage have plied their craft at non league, L2 or L1 level.
I do believe that every transfer should go through a governing body and that a very small percentage (sub 1%) should go to the transferred players club they signed schoolboy forms and another payment for whoever gave them their first pro contract.
So every time Rambo is sold there should be a percentage for Schoolboy and first pro contract to Cardiff City. We should get a slice of every Montando transfer with Man city.
Clubs like Crewe and Southampton will get some reward for their work and clubs like Brentford very little.

Yes definitely championship clubs are more than spending behond their means and thats what is causing the problem... but in order to have a balance parachute payments need to be stopped to clubs but put that money into the pot the championship get ! What's happening now some clubs promoted are not spending in premier league but spending it when get relegated so keeping best players ... Norwich classic example havent had to sell anyone this season... besides losing parachute payments may concentrate the mind on living within their means in 1st place knowing wont get possibly extra £90m or whatever it is
