Anyone been down to catch any of this in Bute Park? Took my 8 year old to watch and it’s a great day out! Some real quality players and also some absolute disasters!! Well worth a look

Yes went down on Sunday evening and watched a few of the games.

Really enjoyable evening and as you say a wide variety of different abilities but that doesn't matter at all - all the players seemed to be having a great time and the games were played in a great spirit.

Only four players per side on the pitch at any one time so there was a lot of changing around during the games but with the entertainment afterwards and free entry it was well worth a visit.

Taken better shits in a park, standard was abysmal, smackhead jacking up and shagging themselves was not my idea of a World Cup

One question.

Quality wise was it better, as good or worse than the Women’s non homeless World Cup?

You are a very sad case of a person, these guys are trying to do something really positive to try get their lives back together as well as being a great example to others in the homelessness trap, I hope you never find yourself in their shoes GOD HELP YOU :banghead:

I have no issues with the genuine homeless trying to better themselves well done to those lads I say but the ones I saw in the world cup, feck this and feck that they were shouting in front of kids then 2 of them were laced on the rat powder convulsing after celebrating a pele kick, the worst is the old woman by queen street who always has her shoes off smoking shit and shouting at folk, she really needs to be booted in the head with a football

I know someone on the Council who told me that when it was first mutted, everyone crapped themselves and no one wanted to be seen as the one who voted against it,later in corridors it was frowned upon as a waste of money and a real possibility of the homeless staying in Cardiff after the event to add to our problems !!!

I don’t understand what it’s trying to achieve, if they have the energy to play foot they are capable of working.

Its about building up self esteem and using it as a starting point to rise from the lowest point in their lives, a point at which many of us prey we never get near to. The work and finding a home will eventually come, its not like turning a tap on and away they go. :old:

Ok but how do you get a job with out an address mate?

People with places to live are struggling to find jobs.

Most of your posts are utter out of touch bollocks but this is up there with the top ones.

Fair play this thread is abysmal. Where on earth do you get your information from. Not shocked that these opinions exsist, but to assume homeless people all use drugs or don't work would suggest you subscribe to the Daily Mail every day. Ffs you may think its funny or popular to state these ill informed opinions but you make this board read like the Diary of Alf Garnet.

Proud that my country and my city of birth, have put on this event. From what I hear its been a big success. 64 teams from around the world. Also well done Michael Sheen for dipping into his own pocket to ensure the event went ahead.
Hopefully it will have helped some of those involved to turn their lives around.

The person you know on the council probably has a cushy job for life and a nice pension later on.They will never know what some of the participants have had to endure.
