The jack tramp off to Sheffield Utd.
Poor old swansea town.

Agreed, nonsense valuation. I’d rather Zohore!

They are doing no such thing, the accounts are there for all to see.

This transfer will pretty much erase any money concerns and have a small portion available to replace. A good player but 20m is a no brainer for us.

Any of it going to the 5p in the £1 companies you put into administration??

True. A no brainer but will they spend of a replacement?

500k for Petersen is not suggesting you will spend.

I agree that £20m is an absolute no brained but I would be very concerned as to where the £££ will actually end up.
As you suggest, the ideal scenario would be clear some debt and a small amount for replacement.
Your owners have been proven to be less than ‘ideal’ though mate.

Come on you've been doing same for 7 yrs ( selling players at inflated prices) and still you are short of cash for a properly run club the money seems to be going down a very big drain?

It's £17Million, only £20Million with add ons and they will go down so you won't get the £20Million!

And you won't see it anyway

A decade ago we paid 5 million for a proven striker in chopra, now 20 million for a good striker with one excellent season or 8 million for Zohore a player who had a good 6 months.
Crazy prices and shows the value for investing in players from europe or league 1.

Well we bought McBurnie for 300k. I am not of the thinking that spending heaps of money translates to a good player, most of our best players have been bought for peanuts. Ashley Williams was 400k, Nathan Dyer was 500k, Dan James was 200k.

If we get a decent player in then it doesn't matter how much he costs in my opinion.

We are short of cash because we have been relegated. prior to this, that tactic funded us to stay at the top level for the best part of a decade having top 10 finishes, winning a major trophy and getting to the knockout stages of Europe - not to mention improving our facilities beyond comprehension from what they were. Relegation came at a cost and that's why we currently find ourselves in a position where the sale is needed.

But this tactic has served us well and in my opinion continues to do so. Last season was one of the most refreshing and enjoyable in a while and we spend next to nothing.

Which ones are they?

I don't think any companies went into administration, the majority was owed to Neil McClure. It would also be breaking the law to pay any companies that accepted a CVA, many who went on to make five times their loss back due to their continued involvement with the club and preferential deals we were able to offer.

But none went bust, thats' just folklore probably originating from here.

The tactic got you relegation as well just like other clubs previously that followed same tactic....
the training facility next to stadium is that one of two you have?

A bit different when you try and uncover a 20 goal a season striker at that price. Yes it can be done but not constantly.

To be fair if our new striker really takes off and a prem club came calling with 20 big ones I don't think we would hold him.

I disagree, what relegated us was spiraling costs from spending too much. Relegation comes to all clubs of our size, its just a matter of how long you can stave it off. That tactic delayed it for longer than anyone of our size I can remember whilst achieving what we did.

Yes training facility next to the stadium. 10 million I believe, plus an academy now which provided the development for the likes of McBurnie and James after getting it to a status we could poach from other clubs at a young age.

The club will never see that money, you lot are deluded if you think the yanks will spend any of it

Well we have always managed to do it. Jason Scotland was bought for 40k, Trundle was signed for free, Scott Sinclair was signed for 800k.

Our head of recruitment comes with a great reputation so have to trust he can come up with the goods.

What do you mean by the club? The club will see every penny of it. Do you mean we won't be using it to buy players?

That I agree with, and wouldn't want it to be. We have overheads we need to service.

Havent seen it close up but looks very small site from train with just a Dutch barn and pitches? Reason ask is our fans complain about such things when we have 3 inside facilities plus the massive blue indoor pitch next to ground with training facilities soon to be our own with all infrastructure you require. And hopefully a decent academy again! Not saying it is but our facilities look better than what see of yours? What makes yours so good?

Knew it wouldn’t take long to have the history of Swansea Town(2009-19) regurgitated on here again..

It’s very interesting..

you signed mcburnie as a 19 year old how are you claiming the credit under your acadamy :laughing5:

James too was developed elsewhere though i guess he was like 16/17 when he moved to you guys.

Its like us claiming Ralls is our development.

Because they were coached and became the players they are today due to their involvement in our development side, it's the reason its there. I am not saying we made him into a professional but I have no doubt we made McBurnie the player he is today. Dan James was a nothing player when we signed him, a skinny kid with a fear of taking players on, we transformed him due to that development side, as I said, its the reason it's there, it isn't all to hone local players.

Good business by the jacks
Made a killing on two players

Only time will tell, but if they invest
A quarter on players, then I'd be
OK with it, if I was a jack....

Our facilities are first class, we even have an altitude chamber. It was one of the first things Paul Clement commented on when he was interviewed, and he has been at Bayern and Real Madrid. I think our training facilities are renowned for being state of the art and certainly a source of immense pride for everyone at the club.
